Prayer That Rewrites Your Future

Zechariah Chapter 10 verse 1 ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter Reign and the Lord will make flashing clouds and he will give them showers of rain grass in the field for everyone praise the Lord praise the Lord it is a very familiar passage to us we have heard many messages from this passage but I want to share some thoughts that struck my heart it is a call to prayer we read Psalm 16 this morning and we heard a blessed message from the servant of the Lord he divided into two parts and gave it to us and we see in psalm 16 it is starting with the prayer prot me God protect me oh lord for I trust in you it is a call to prayer dey3 and so what we read in Zechariah comes from Deuteronomy chapter 11 and so when we read that passage there is no call to prayer there [Music] that passage in Deuteronomy talks about loving the Lord and following his Commandments but when we come to this passage it talks specifically about praying and the message and the word of the Lord brings us to our knees we don’t come just to sit stand in the presence of the Lord and come and go but when we come to the presence of the Lord it should bring us to our knees with prayer Friday we heard a blessed message of Pastor mamin the role of a Shepherd is what he talked about the message of the shepherd brings us to our knees we all love prophecy we hear prophecy and eagerly wait for [Music] it and if it’s a a bad prophecy or telling of a of an event or tragic event we are happy when it doesn’t happen but if it’s a blessing prophecy we wait for it and then if it doesn’t happen we call that person a false prophet but let prophecy be prophecy that brings us to our knees let the promises of God bring us to our knees let the message this morning that we hear bring us to our knees what’s the opposite of this and so we all want to know what’s happening next that’s that all our desire what is going to happen tomorrow what’s going to happen next year is something going to happen this year we always think and desire for that so we always go to listen to prophecy and so Israel had this issue they had thought that God is not always speaking and so they made idols and they it called it teraphim what was the name of this teraphim to get messages from them to look at for fortune telling and so they keep God on one side and all these other things on the [Music] side and so when every time God spoke to them he said take these Idols away from you and we see that Rachel as they were leaving the house of Laban took some Idols with her because she wants to know what’s going to happen tomorrow she didn’t have much connection with God but we see that she never re reached bethl and she died before that but what God tells us what what is there for tomorrow do one thing come to your knees and if you come to your knees he will change your future favorably he is the god that changes your future if you need to pray in time many times we are not grasping of the time only after the incident is when we pray and we see Jesus trying many times to get the disciples to pray but it didn’t happen with them but once Jesus left they started all praying but the appointed time that Jesus says we need to pray this passage is talking about the spring rain it’s a spring rain it’s it’s a Due Time rain and it’s a due time of [Music] prayer and it is if a message comes God is the one that can rewrite it if there if anyone tells us something like bad news that will happen to us God can rewrite [Music] it and the Holy Spirit will encourage us and advise us to pray until we receive a blessing in 2 Samuel chapter 16 [Music] verse2 and we see this man shim he come against David with three things it’s shim is not called a prophet in the word of God but we see that this person shim is coming toward David on a donkey and his first thing he’s saying is the Judgment of the Lord is coming on you and so the next thing he says even more harshly and says your kingdom is taken from you and given to your son absolum [Music] and the third thing he told David is you’re going to be destroyed and we see that David’s response is a prayer and so David’s prayer is God sees my trouble of today and he will bring me back we know the prayer of jabz his mother gave him his name and she raised him calling him a son of pain as she gave him milk she called him son of pain as she punished him she called him son of pain in the one prayer of jabz we see that God rewrote his situation and this can happen positively when one day when Daniel was reading the book of Jeremiah he read a passage that within 70 years the Captivity of Israel would change David Daniel just didn’t read it and was satisfied with it but he took a 21 day fast what is the problem that happens to us we try everything but prayer we try to break it down and we just uh are we we be go into a a mode of self-pity and we just become very empathetic to ourselves and where we hate ourselves and we compare [Music] ourselves but we do all of this but we forget to come to our knees whatever other people say even if a message comes from the Lord if you sit in the presence of the Lord if you sit on your knees God is the god that will bless you but there’s one thing but why can’t we sit on our knees we need a humility to accept our down comom or our faults uh groups there are groups like uh AA groups like Alcoholics Anonymous to break addictions and the first step of this group is to accept that you have a problem ask people who are drunk and if you ask someone who drinks they’ll say I have no problem because they know they think they don’t have a problem I can stop this at any time ask a smoker and they’ll say I can stop at any time then why don’t you stop because I don’t feel like doing it now only if we have a great humility can we admit our own faults the second step of this group is this I cannot stop this without a greater help than myself addiction is just not alcoholism there’s behaviors many times we do these things and justify ourselves everything is everyone else’s fault I have small weaknesses that’s all we have we don’t go beyond that but the Holy Spirit tells us to come to our knees to pray because he is the god that changes the situation he is the god that rewrites the future praise the Lord and so the first thing the holy spirit says is a call to prayer the second thing the holy spirit says there why do we pray for rain if we said this is a spring rain this is a Time the springtime is when the plants are renewing themselves there are two rains in Israel there’s the former rain it’s in it’s in October and that’s when all the seed is [Music] sewn and then April and in March and April is a time to reap and so you can see that the plants are growing up and bearing fruit if you don’t get this rain but then the yield of the Harvest won’t be good not just to see it it has to grow completely it needs to become mature it needs to stand out on its own it needs to become perfect praise the Lord hallelujah this is why they’re praying for this latter Reign second 2 Kings chapter 19 verse three and they said to him thus says Hezekiah this day is a day of trouble and rebuke and blasphemy for the children have come to birth but there is no strength to bring them forth the children have come to birth that means the labor pains have begun there is labor pains but there’s no strength the child is there but the child does not come out and some very interesting things are happening here with Hezekiah Chapter 19 Verse 1 and two and so it was when King Hezekiah heard it that he tore his clothes covered himself with sackcloth and went into the house of the Lord then he sent eliakim who was over the house and shebna the Scribe and the elders and the priests covered with sackcloth to Isaiah the prophet the son of [Music] Amos and we see that Hezekiah is tearing his clothing and sitting in sackcloth and he sends his servants to the prophet [Music] Isaiah and so he tells them in verse four you can read what he tells them to tell Hezekiah Isaiah tells them to tell Hezekiah when you read verse four it may be that the Lord your God will hear all the words of rebeka whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to reproach the Living God and I will rebuke The Words which the Lord your God has heard therefore lift up your prayer for The Remnant that is [Music] left there are two things that interested me there that struck me there and one word that is mentioned there it said is maybe and second thing mentioned there is your god and so this request is being sent and is telling the pastor well you know what should we pray about how to pray your God your God should hear your prayer should answer my issue to give an answer maybe an answer so God gave an [Music] answer and so this Assyrian King had two issues there was an issue in libna and so this Assyrian Commander raka took some of his army and went there and then there was another issue and so the people of kush they heard that are coming to attack the Assyrians and so when the pastor prayed there was an answer in two ways and so when we read chapter five verse five it says they all just came back and so if you ask the pastor to pray this is all that’s going to happen the pastor will be on his knees and whatever happens in this church to anyone my heart is broken but I have limitations if you need to sit on your knees you have to sit on your knees no other choice and so in India there’s the habit of sending a bullies out or gangs out to beat up people on behalf of others but God doesn’t take any of that type of work if we need to sit on our knees we have to sit on our knees 19 verse chapter 19 verse 19 therefore O Lord Our God I pray save us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are the Lord God you alone and so the second time raka came a letter was given and he thought oh when this pastor prayed everything is good to go but then he realized a bigger issue has come now he prayed for the headache now the stomach pain has come now he realized there’s no choice and so Hezekiah is taking this letter from from Rea and is sitting in the in the [Music] temple so we see that when Hezekiah is praying this time he’s dropped that word maybe dear God Raba wrote a letter like [Music] this he didn’t say God maybe that you saw this maybe you’ll respond he didn’t pray oh god of Isaiah [Music] he didn’t pray oh god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob he said my God he said my God and there was a great Deliverance there when he prayed like that and this time he didn’t send anyone to Isaiah and Isaiah sent to him and so the message was sent from Isaiah When you pray in the presence of God God will send the message to you you don’t have to search for it God will speak to you not just speaking verse 35 and it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of the Lord went out and killed in the camp of the Assyrians 185,000 and when people arose early in the morning there were all the corpses all dead and that night itself when you come to your knees when God speaks directly to you not giving it to others but when you pray when we pray If We Stand Together God will hear the prayer he will give the message he gave a message before now when he gave the message he gave the answer that night to their problem you know what the delay to our deliverance is we always give our our problems our requests out to others can you remember me but God is trying to wake us up praise Lord this morning let us be people that come to our knees let us come back to our our topic and when we say that when we look and see that Isaiah is giving that message to Hezekiah and the first message that was given it was a message of comfort you don’t need to be worried about him he’s going to hear a new and go to his land but the second time when the message is given and the daughter of Zion is laughing and he’s Shake she’s shaking her head and laughing and it doesn’t say she he’s going to be delivered it says you’re already delivered now it is this laughter of Victory not just that and this year what has grown you will eat of it and next year you will eat what has come from [Music] that and and by the third year you will enjoy the fruit of your your Harvest and Hezekiah was praying for the issue of rbeka to go away but God does not give that answer alone he also gave an answer in how you’re going to live the next three years Hallelujah we all have children here and some children are in your hand we have many children here in many stages of life may God establish each one of them may all may all of them flourish God has established all our families Pastor mamin spoke about the family on Friday May May there be a rain in the family may all those blessings that we know is coming become matured in Ministry we all have a Ministry may God establish all of our ministry may all our Ministries become mature may all our Ministries stand out you know for the church has blessed us thus far we know when we see it our heart overflows but God is going to bless us more until it reaches its completion or Perfection we need to remain on our knees in our kitchen area there is a fruit tree and it’s a red guava type of uh species of fruit tree and so it’s a very small small uh type but this guava here comes about to this size during the monsoon time and the the clouds are in the sky you should see the guava that is produced at that time in uh in to help that we can do something we can do it here and you can take two halves of a coconut and put it on either side of this fruit and so this guava will take the shape of the coconut shells around it you can give a small guava to someone but you can also give a bigger guava to someone and there’s a difference in giving these and when you look at these two fruits they’re different let your fruit let your yield stand out let your fruit become per perfect let others say when they look at your fruit this is the Lord’s doing when we go to Zechariah Chapter 10 verse three the last part and it’s a passage that God is speaking to his his flock and I will make you like a warhorse and he’s telling a goat an animal that looks down at the ground I’m going to make you like a warhorse and the goat is down here the horse is up [Music] here James chapter 1 verse 5 James 1 15 [Music] without reproach without rebuke if you ask the Lord he it will be given to them in front of our eyes we’ll see that Miracle we first read God will change the situation and secondly he says I’m going to change the fruit it means God will change us God changes our average moderate situation our fruit into something extraordinary because the Christian Life is a different type of life and the Christian land is a different type of land we see that Zechariah was coming from Deuteronomy and we see in Deuteronomy that the holy spirit is speaking there and he’s telling them there the land that you go to is not like the Egypt that you came from and so in Egypt when you planted seed you kicked up water to water these seeds Deuteronomy 11: 10 and 11 [Music] it is a land that the Lord protects it is a land that God sends rain and Waters it from the beginning of the year to the end of the year the eyes of the Lord are looking on the land you know his eyes are continually we see that the eyes of the Lord looks upon it and he also cares for it and verse 13 on it says you will eat and be satisfied we all PE we are all people that eat there is a a moment that when you eat you become satisfied he is a God that gives the former the early rain and the latter rain when you eat and are satisfied but there’s a verse in Hagi verse chapter 1 verse 6 you will eat to not be satisfied you’re just not becoming satisfied there’s a a moment that you are so over overflowing and overfilled there’s a days that when you come and worship you’ll say that was a special day and there’s times that our heart is broken and we leave and one one day one time me and my friends we all went to a hotel in and I saw I looked at the menu I saw a full chicken for this much price and so I I was thinking of the chicken in the Gulf which is like a rotisserie chicken I can’t finish the whole thing and so I called two of my friends say hey let’s go together and eat and so we went to this Blue Hills restaurant and ordered and he brought the chicken it’s a very small uh uh [Music] chicken and so one of my friends is from tamilnad and so with two fingers he lifted it up and and he called the waiter over and he and he asked the waiter and said hey is this a chicken or a frog and he said sir this is a chicken and so we didn’t know how three of us are going to eat this and be satisfied but God is the god that fills you and satisfies you when he blesses you we will thank him for that blessing when we come to God’s presence there’s satisfaction even a home prayer there’s satisfaction when God’s people see each other there’s a satisfaction sometimes we leave with a little sorrowful heart and he is a God that protects us from that he’s the god that cares for us individually he’s the one that cares for each one of us individually each one her and it says there in the original that he gives each strand of grass it’s rain each strand of grass and that is how the God who satisfies satisfies and and when you go you go satisfied so let’s be people who are on our knees these all messages are to bring us to our needs no one should go from here saying they are full it is for us to come to our knees and to receive he’s the god that changes our situation that changes each person he is the god that matures your fruit he prepares you for spiritual warfare that’s why he makes him the warhorse anyone go on top of a goat to battle and that person will go he is the god that makes them the horse and he makes you ready for the spiritual battle and he’s going to tell us exactly what to do let me shorten my words and chapter 10 verse4 four things are written verse four and it is written in our relation to God from him comes the Cornerstone and there’s an argument debate there and some Scholars say that comes from God and some people say it comes from Judah even if it comes from Judah it’s still coming from the Lord I will make comes the Cornerstone what is this Cornerstone because the entire structure is built on that Cornerstone the Cornerstone is able to carry the entire weight of the structure I went to see a building the other day and I said a joke and I looked at the corner of it and the foundation was broken I said I said this last last time we saw a building the corner was also broken and so I made the joke because the Cornerstone isn’t right here we don’t have cornerstones it’s all built on a strong Foundation but the Cornerstone is what build holds up the foundation and the second thing is the tent Peg and it is the peg that holds this tent down there was no screws or Nails back then and so these type of pegs were used to hold structures together and that Peg that nail is what holds that structure together and it’s also talking about the Lord and so next is the battle bow to protect the Church of the Lord and that bow is constantly being flexed and the arrows are flying and it’s being hold holding tight and if it becomes loose you can’t survive he is going to make you the battle boat the rulers of authority and he makes them rulers of authority against the spiritual forces and they all together like a strong mighty warrior and tread down the enemy and is talking about a message of God and then the message of God to Us Praise the Lord hallelujah he’s a God that prepares the future and he rewrites your future did you hear a prophecy that b bad things will happen don’t worry just sit on your knees God will turn what’s evil against you for good and is the prayer of the spring time and is a prayer for the appointed time he’s going to rewrite your future did he prophesy good for you but come to the come to your knees until you hold that child until that child is standing on their feet and that child until he stands in front of you in the land until your eyes close in honor he is the god that works for USU he he the God who matures your fruit lives not forgetting one strand of glass he gives grain for everything this morning he gives the rain for you he is a God that rewrites you no matter what others have to say but he is the one that rewrites you where is this wisdom from isn’t he the carpenter son isn’t he the Carpenter’s son it wouldn’t if he was the son of a wise man he would say he got it from his father and and many PE families say oh that’s his father’s wisdom but it’s not the father’s wisdom it’s not the mother’s wisdom not from anyone in the family where did he get this wisdom but from the Holy Spirit and he will change you like a new person he will change your situation and give it to each one individually Lord bearing respons he will prepare you for a loadbearing responsibility when do troubles happen in churches because Authority is not handled I’m going let me say publicly tell me telling you from this many years of my experience knowing not how to handle Authority that’s where the issues come up either we go backward or jump forward not Lord bearing Authority but there is a loadbearing Authority he makes you able to bear that load he won’t allow you to be shaken and he will lead you [Music] forward and Psalm 119 verse 105 you are the the lamp into my feet and the light into my path and I thought about this in the verses below your word is a light to my feet and your word is the lamp that I can put my feet so I can take my next step and so if the lamp is in the front then my feet will not get any light but if he is the the path to the light to the path but it becomes a light to everyone else on the path in the paths that you walked he will make that a highway and many thousands and millions will go down that path let’s come back to the psalm verse chapter 16 last verse you reveal the path of life to me you will show me the path of your life you will show me that path of life he will guide me through that path may God bless us with these words.
