You Have Said It

Service: Sunday Worship

Book: Matthew, John

Scripture: Matthew

Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. So happy to see all of you in the presence of the Lord. [Music] I thank and praise God for this opportunity that we can all worship the Lord together. And we had a blessed fellowship on Friday. May God uh give us the grace to continue forward in his blessing. topic title. You have said and the title of today’s message is you have said you have said it is a phrase used in three of the gospels and he is saying it to three people. One is Judas, one is the high priest and this the third is Pilate. And so we see during the life of Jesus and his ministry here on earth, some of his phrases that he uses is very interesting. I am saying I am saying and we know about the I am sayings where he says I am the bread of life. I am the light. I am the the the resurrection and the life. I’ve told you these things and I am now telling you most assurely I say speak the truth to you. You have said and we see that this term that we’re going to study today you have said is near closer to the end of his ministry. And so what these uh he said to these three people is what I want to share with you today. Matthew chapter 25 verse 26 26 25 26 verse 25 is where he says it to Judas. Then Judas who is betraying him answered and said Rabbi is it I? And he said to him you have said it. They’re all asking Jesus, “Is it I, Lord? Is it I?” And Jesus is not saying anything. But when Judas asked this question, but Jesus turns to Judas and says, “You have said it.” We know the background of this context. And so the the story behind this is what a word that Jesus says. one of you is going to betray me. And so while this is happening is when this verse comes in. And so if we understand this correctly, they are saying a quote that Jesus is saying. And if we go to John chapter 6 verse 66 and 67. And so the Jesus is asking his disciples, do you have a mind to go away? But he says it in a very specific way. And so there’s an old-fashioned way of throwing people out or just uh getting rid of them, but Jesus does not approach it that way. Not also you are wishing to go away are you? Do you have a mind to go also? But you don’t. [Music] And so look at the humbleness on how he is asking such a question. But we see that the number is increasing up until up until then. Thousands are coming. And so he chose the 12 out of that. And then he’s choosing 70. And so Jesus gets this revelation that the time that Judas is going to deceive and betray is coming close. And so at that time now people are leaving. And so that’s at that time where Jesus is asking this question and 67 he’s asking in a specific way our fall back and so they fell back and they moved back and after that they no longer walked with him. Imagine we are walking together but imagine I take a step back suddenly and he is no longer walking with me. Hallelujah. When this happens and Judas is about to take his next step and at that time is when Jesus is asking this question. We need to understand the power and the depth of the words here. There is a warden in the prison. He is a strong charactered person and she is a strong charactered person and I I’ve told you this story before and my name is like this and so when I talk like that I it also comes out and so sometimes she she will forget that she’s the warden of this place. [Music] And even the people that work below her, even though how big or great they are, they they shudder when they are in front of her. And sometimes if she’s really upset, she’ll just say something without thinking. And so how it affects that person or shakes up that person is what she’s talking about here. Jesus is saying some things when we talk like this and some clashes happen. What should be done? First thing is what is the meaning of these words? What word what have these words done to you? What harm have these words done to you? And so when these words come into your heart and trouble you, how do you give an answer back? What is the problem here? If we look in this passage, Jesus says, “You need to partake of my body and drink of my blood.” And so now the problem is the Jewish people that heard this were troubled. And how many let me ask you how many people cut up Jesus and ate him and and we can understand no one’s going to cut Jesus’ finger and drink his blood but they were not able to understand or uh get a meaning of what Jesus had said. And when they heard it, they said felt a sudden anger and a reproach to what Jesus said. Jesus was talking very symbolically. Don’t we say we need to take part or eat of the word? Does that mean we are eating the Bible? Doesn’t it mean that the word has to come into our life? Doesn’t it mean like we eat and drink that we take the word of God into our life? Anything I eat or drink becomes part of my body. And so instead of that, their understanding of what Jesus said was troubled. And what what could they do? And can they clarify? Why didn’t they clarify what Jesus said? They didn’t have the mindset to clarify what Jesus said. And and I’m happy about Bethl. And so on Friday, I prayed for someone who was expecting. After I prayed that, the sisters came up to me and said, “Who are you praying for?” Because everyone’s asking me, “Is it me? Is it me?” Couldn’t they have just clarified like that? But there is a risk in asking. So there is a possibility. The risk here is the person asking or the other person that question may unsettle them. Even though no matter how great of a person it is, even if the pastor has a great ego to the sky and you just listen to what I say, don’t ask me back. And so now the pastor is unsettled. In Mark chapter 4 verse 13, we see a situation where the disciples come to Jesus and say, “What is the meaning of this parable?” And we see Jesus rebuking them. And so when we read that, it’s almost sounding like there Jesus is saying, “Don’t come to me with these dumb questions. Jesus explained the parable to them, but they had the courage to come and ask him. Why did Jesus rebuke them? When pastors are speaking, it it is not an obligation or a must that you understand everything. And so it’s impossible to explain everything so thoroughly in just 40 minutes. So I’m going to tell you very openly. Whoever is speaking here, if you have any questions about what they said, you come and ask. And we see the reason why they’re rebuked in Matthew. And so Jesus is telling them, “You have received the gift to understand the parable, but some things are hidden. You have the gift to understand the parable. Then why aren’t you understanding? Because there is rebellion in your heart. There is resistance in your heart. There are some things in your mind. But this cannot go beyond that. And because you thought you were wise, you are not able to understand. That’s why Jesus rebuked them. When Jesus opens it up and we have to submit to it, when he says walk in the way, don’t say we have never walked this way. When the sheet came down in Peter’s vision, he heard a voice that said, “Kill and eat.” And but he said, “I haven’t done that to this day. What God has called holy, you should not call unclean.” And so he was teaching them like this. And we see in Mark chapter 8 where Jesus is rebuking them again. Be careful of the the leavened bread of the Pharisees. It’s a parable again. And now when they heard that, now they’re talking about bread. And Jesus is asking them, you have eyes but you cannot see. You have ears but you cannot hear. Have you forgotten? Has your heart become hardened? Why can’t you not understand? And you see where they received grace is where they have the trouble. And I’m not talking about our physical eyes, but the inner eyes have been opened. Have your ears not been circumcised and opened? But even when the Holy Spirit is leading, why are they not able to understand? When Jesus is teaching them and so after one point they began to understand. Let’s read Matthew chapter 13 verse 51. And Jesus said, “Now, do you understand?” And they said, “Yes, we understand.” And so we see them joining Jesus as one in the spirit. When a husband and wife have a conversation, when the wife just gives one look, the husband can understand. And when the husband gives one look, the wife understands. But someone from the outside doesn’t understand that look. How do how can they understand? Because the two people, the husband and wife, they understand each other. And in the church, this happens. We need to be led by one spirit. Hallelujah. And we see in John chapter 6 that Peter is making a confession. Chapter 6 verse 70. 69 and 70. And he’s using a term a dialos there and that that word the root word of is and diablo slander accusation and it can mean slander or false accusation and there is a world we cannot see. There is some communications happening in the spiritual realm communications and so it is the communication in the spiritual realm that come out into the physical world in the Holy Spirit. Jesus is talking to the disciples and so the disciples are accepting it in the spirit but in one of the disciples that’s not happening but he is receiving a communication from another spiritual realm. What has the communication in the spiritual realm is what is showing in the physical world. How can we not fall into this? Clarification. The first thing is clarification. Ask Jesus. Dear God, what did you say? And so Jesus explained it to them. And the second thing is analyzing it today. What is happening? And so they have to look at and say, “Are we truly eating his flesh or drinking his blood?” So when you truly analyze it, you can understand that no, he didn’t mean this literally, but he meant in a symbolic way. And so we also have old experiences that verify what we have heard. Up until now, Jesus did nothing like this. So why is he now all of a sudden like this? So why did a Jesus who said this once would he change? Why would he say something like this? Fall back, stop walking. And in in instead of this they fall back and stop walking. And so instead of that, they’re asking Jesus, even though they are rebuked, to take away that rebellion and stubbornness from their heart and continue to walk with Jesus. Jesus is communicating with Judas, but Judas is not submitting to it. But Judas is asking, “Is it I, Lord? And Jesus looked at him and said, “You have said it and what you have said is true.” The second is the conversation with the high priest. And let’s read that in Matthew chapters 26 verse 24. I say, “You have said, you have said it.” And we read chapter n uh Psalm nine this morning. And we talk about the righteousness in the verses there. It talks about the judgment, the courthouse of the Lord and how he rules with justice and righteousness. And so Jesus is standing in the court of the high priest who stands at the throne of God. And so in India it’s called the the court of uh justice and righteousness and righteousness. And so it is a justice that is happening there. And so here it’s also similar. You are in the power and the strength of the lawyer who will fight for you. And you get a lawyer according to how much money you have. If you have a million dollars, you get a lawyer accordingly. But justice is lost somewhere. [Music] But we see the high priest who is representing the throne of God of justice and righteousness is asking a question. [Music] And we see the high priest asking Jesus, “What do you have to say about their accusations to you?” And when we think about this, we think, “What a righteous man. He he’s nothing in this. And you know this man pastor is very impartial. He won’t look at anyone’s face. And he’s asking Jesus in this way. And we see Jesus not saying a single word. And we see the high priest getting angry. And we read verse 63. But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to him, “I put you under oath by the living God. Tell us if you are the Christ, the son of God.” The living God. The living God, the Christ, the son of God. Look at look at the terms used here. He is the living God, the Christ and the son of God. Who is saying this? It’s the high priest. [Applause] And we see this high priest is sharing a deep revelation. We read Peter’s confession. And it read it again if you need to. Matthew 16:16. We see this deep revelation by Peter. And in the Jesus who heard this said, “It is not man that has revealed it to you, but God himself.” And we see this legal term used by the high priest under oath of the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the son of God. And Jesus response was, “You have said it.” See, [Music] we see that a man who’s truly trying to trap Jesus, entangle Jesus, is now speaking about the glory and the mystery of Jesus. Jesus’ answer to him is you have said it. And we see this in John chapter 16. And we see that Caiaphas the priest is saying it is good for that. It’s not good that one man dies for another. And so they were saying because he is the high priest they he’s speaking prophetically [Music] So this revelation is not just through Jesus. It’s those who are accusing Jesus, not just through his disciples, but those who are also after Jesus as well. In the men’s prison, there are no secrets. But I don’t even need to say in the women’s prison, If someone keeps a secret in the men’s prison, if he, and I’m talking specifically about the inmates, if he keeps a secret from other inmates, [Music] if what he is doing secretly, his leader is not aware of, they will kill him. they will destroy him. In the spiritual realm, there are no secrets. God keeps secrets. That is his glory. [Music] And so what the reason they are hidden is because if they come out, they can cause harm. And on earth, man also tries to keep secrets. And that man keeps secrets to protect themselves. We see a Jesus talking to the high priest and Jesus is talking back to him. [Music] And many people said are saying that Jesus is saying in such a way I didn’t say that you said it. But that’s not true. But if you read the second part of it, it’s it’s talking about the glorification of Jesus coming in the clouds. And on that word alone, they’re taking him to be crucified. Communications. And we see a great communication happening here. We see heaven is speaking. We see the powers of darkness in the spiritual realm speaking. And we see the high priest talking as if he’s the angel of light. What is happening here? The high priest is trying to keep his tradition, his institution going. And so if anyone comes and stands against the tradition of the priest, the priest is trying to destroy him. In our church, there are many people There are some that come to the front to the stage and there are some that come quietly and many have many responsibilities and there are some that don’t take any responsibilities and in in those situations some of those people could be forgotten. We have a lot of children in our church Sunday school teachers. And so I told our Sunday school teachers the other day, we need to have a system that protects our children. And the reason we need to have that is because our children don’t have a voice. And in some homes, children get wounds. And so when families come together, they get a wound. And so the first attempt is to quiet it. Why is it being suppressed? So the family doesn’t get destroyed. So it doesn’t hurt the church. So our names don’t get shamed. [Music] And we see this weak man coming from Galilee. But he he is not weak in that sense, but by the world’s standards, he’s weak. And we see that the world is stepping on his justice, his righteousness. Bulldozer. And so it’s it’s like a bulldozer. It just doesn’t stop. It goes right over. Let me tell you one more thing. And let me tell you that this church Bethl is not in more important than any child that is here. And no church is greater than its uh or its weakest member. If you cause the least of these to stumble, you need to cast a stone around his neck and throw him into the sea. And we see the the high priest who comes before the throne of God stepping on the righteousness, the justice of go of Jesus. [Music] And when he is sitting on his throne, he received this re revelation. The living God, the Christ, the son of God. And so when he said that, Jesus looked at him and said, “You have said it. You have spoken the truth. You have said the truth.” And so the third example is Jesus in front of Pilate. And let’s go to Luke chapter 23 verse three. Praise the Lord. It is as you say. Hallelujah. You said and we see in the gospels in front of Pilate and uh uh the high priests especially Luke and the gospel of Luke and John Jesus is also saying I am. I am is what you have said. And so when he said, “I am,” the the soldiers fell back. And so now revelation is coming from their mouth. And we see that Jesus in front of Pilate is saying, “It is right. It is true. I am.” And so Pilate goes outside to the priest and says, “I find no fault in him.” And so they’re thinking that he is trying to talk in front of Pilot and escape. But there is a revelation resounding in the heart of Pilate. The worldly man has some more sense. The pilot that re receives a revelation from God says, “I find no fault in him.” And so the the one that stands in front of the throne of Christ, the high priest says, “He is a bad man. And so the Judas that walked with Jesus is even trying to find fault with Jesus. And so the Pilate shows much more sense than any of them, but he’s standing shaky. You know that earlier communication I told you about that pressure from the spiritual realm. you know that pressure that was in the high priest. And so when that pressure comes to Pilate, Pilate gives him up. And so Jesus says this line, I because I’ve been committed to you, there’s greater punishment. There’s Herod in there, high priest in there, Juh Judas in there. Hallelujah. All of them receive the revelation but they are resisting against that revelation. That’s why we we tell each other we need to pray for our leaders for our kings because the pressures our our leaders face is very high. They have pressure from society. majority vote. They have the the pressure from their voting uh uh realm. And so only if they show extraordinary courage can they rescue the Jesus who’s standing in front of them. If you want to rescue a Jesus where everyone is saying crucify him, you need to have an extraordinary courage. Let me come back to my word. You have said you have said why did Jesus say that? Jesus is not saying it to rescue himself. He’s not trying to trap people in their words and be smart and he’s not saying it because he’s a lawyer. And there’s something that Jesus says in the Gospel of Matthew. Let me read it. from today on the Son of Man and sitting at the right hand of the Father, sitting at the power of the right hand of the the Father. You will see him in the clouds. And Luke chapter 22, it also says, “From this day on, from this moment on, you will see the Son of Man sitting with power on the right hand of the Father. When everything is becoming a trouble, when those words of revelation are coming from the mouth of the enemy, from Jesus is saying then from this moment on up until now it was me. Up until now it was my disciples. But now it is overflowed and my enemies are telling me. Now I understand something. My hour has come. Now you’re going to see me sit with power at the right hand of my father. Three powers have come against Jesus. considered the devil. A man who was representing the throne of God but trying to hold together the Jewish institution. [Music] And then the third man who is trying to hold his position in the Roman government. And all of these three are in communication with the spiritual realm. And please don’t misunderstand what I’m preaching. Whatever I preach, any of you can come and ask me. When Judas says this to Jesus, Jesus says a few things. And we read in the Psalms that it says, “My own friend has forsaken me.” And in in Zechariah it says, “You have sold me for money.” And so when this is coming out of Judas, Jesus is saying, “You have said it.” And so when the high priest is uh saying this, Jesus is remembering the scriptures. in Psalm 118, the stone which the builders have rejected. And so the psalm also says they have lined up false accusers against me. And so the Jesus in front of the high priest as he hears it, he says, “You have said it.” And we see the Jesus in front of Pilate. and he is the the greatness of the nations and he’s saying you have coming against your anointed and Jesus is saying you have said it I am and you have said I am and before time all of this was already spoken it was all written in the word and now it is being revealed in front of our eyes. But this is not the moment of defeat. This is a moment of victory. And now any minute you’re going to be hanging on the cross and they’re going to nail him to the cross. How can this be a moment of victory? And so when we are facing trouble, we are going against it with prophecy. As you pass milestones in your life, you need to remember this is what the Lord spoke to me. When you are in the midst of trouble, remember this is what God told me. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. We see that when the enemy is coming to attack the power of Jesus is revealed. But Jesus is not looking this as compartments. No. Jesus is not looking at a sections. Oh, they’re going to punish me now. They’re going to torture me. They’re going to pull my beard. They’re going to put the crown of thorns on my head. And now, now this is going to finish. Now they’re going to hang me on the cross. And now when I cry out to Jesus, Jesus is not rescue. God is not rescuing me and I’m crying out. And now I’m going to be buried. And on the third day, I will rise up. And now he’s going to seat me at the highest place. Jesus is not looking at as a bits of a story as compartments. This is one long story. This is one long prophecy. When the prophecy started at the beginning, when Judas started to betray, when the high priest started to accuse, When the pilot said, “You are now going to be crucified.” Jesus doesn’t see any of that. What does he see? He automatically sees his the son of man sitting with power at the right hand of the father. It is all one line. Once this started, he knows this is the end. Now today, you can look at your problem and say, And I am going to get a victory from God. No matter what other people say more than the mocking that I hear, why do you think people look at you and say, “Oh, why is this happening to you?” What’s the reason they’re asking them? And it should be that. Oh, if you’re in someone in Christ, this shouldn’t be happening. You are the person to be blessed. When people look at you and mock you, you should think, I have a great expectation within me. That’s what you need to see. These words that you said, and it’s going straight that way. You know, when you’re driving the car, there are little bumps in in the road. And he’s saying he’s walking me to the green pastures and he is lying me down in the green pastures and by the the still waters. But when you’re walking, it is not a bed of roses. initially. You are going through a place of stones and thorns and so I’m not simply going up there. [Music] Many people will look at you and say you’re suffering. [Music] And when people are looking at you and mocking you and saying, “Look, they’re coming through the valley of but his rod and his staff are with me. Because this is the path that he’s taken me, but let our hearts be steadfast because you have said it.” But that is something those who mock you say. You are one to be blessed. You are one to be blessed. And so let it happen. So when you hear it, you say, “What should you say?” When you hear that because you have said it and it is true, he is going to take me. Let’s clap our hands and worship him. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. As the deer runs after the brook, so my soul runs after you. And I will sit with power at the right hand of the father. We all know that Jesus sits at the right hand of the father and but Jesus is saying I’m sitting with power at the right hand and the high priest thinks he has power. Pilate thinks he has power but I’m going to sit with power at the right hand of the father. The words from the spiritual realm will fight against us to lead us astray. But the words of power and it should be life in our in our minds. Hallelujah. In the presence of God. Let us submit ourselves this morning.
