Be Careful You Don’t Fall
Be Careful You Don’t Fall
Lord’s presence was with us throughout this last week. God is healing us. God is speaking to us. Uh the blessed family John and family Lord’s presence has been with them. It was a shocking uh event. Nobody was expecting that like that. But in God’s time everything happens. Back home we have so many rivers. So many rivers and many time I have been uh uh lost my grip and fallen into these currents. Whatever you can grasp, you will get to grasp. I remember grasping onto one of my cousin sisters and cousin sister. In a deaf moment, she knocked me off and both of us fell into the water again. But there are rocks in the current. You hold on to the rock in your life, you are not going to be washed away. So we need to be sure of holding on to our rock, our Lord in moments of crisis. Praise the Lord. Amen. So for today’s uh message, I would like to read from 1 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 12. Praise the Lord. Be careful that if you don’t fall, if you think you’re standing, If I’m standing here and preaching, there won’t be any problem. If I think that if I start to walk, if I think I can run, there is a chance that I may fall. When you see that small kids are here, Yeah, if a kid is staying right there, have you ever heard that your parents saying that you know please do not fall? [Music] But at the same time if the kid is running we’ll just say that you know please don’t fall. Sometimes I tell my kids that can can you please bring those things. So the sisters you know encourage each other saying that please you you have to go sometimes they both run together but when I see that you know unintentionally you know it comes from my heart saying that please be careful who can understand who can make understand Paul And we have to let Paul saying that you know it’s not when you’re standing that you fall but when you run you fall when you walk there is a chance that you can fall. But the Paul says and the Holy Spirit says it’s not the same thing when it comes to Christian life. In Christian life if you are standing you will fall. If you are running you will not fall. The Holy Spirit will be with you. The rock will be with you. If you’re walking, you’re not we will not fall. In spiritual life, you will fall when you are standing. It’s not just like you’re just standing there. After standing, we just evaluate ourself. [Music] opinion. There are so many uh you know uh different types of languages saying it may if you’re thinking you are standing or it’s my opinion that I’m standing I may thinking I’m standing Jewish cultural understanding there is a difference in Jewish understanding and in Jewish culture They translate it from Hebrew and they think that you know they translate in a way that if other people in the front of other people and thinking that I’m standing let me give you an example uh your man pastor is a spiritual person it’s not what I say but it’s what you say he’s very calm and we say a lot of colleges about that won’t cause any much problem. But pastor himself thinks that I am something and I was running and I decided to stay. I was walking. I decided to stay and I evaluate myself and I think that I’m happy. If you think that you are standing, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t [Music] fall. Do you know when do we get all the troubles and is problems in our life? When we think that we are standing, this verse is related to the journey of Israel. We always uh meditate this verse during the Lord’s supper. Let’s read from 1 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 1-4. Oh, praise the Lord. Praise God. What do we see here? They are doing a journey. They are walking through that sea. They are walking. They are fighting. And the word of God says that they drank from the uh spiritual they had the spiritual drink from the spiritual rock. So which means that they are walking and Jesus is walking with them. The rock is walking. This is showing a journey. Let’s read verse six. 6 verse 6. Um, not that. Oh, sorry. Verse seven. Last part. He says the people sat down to eat and drink. The people were walking. They were running but now they are sitting. They’re celebrating before finishing the race. [Music] We have a lot of lot of time we have seen cyclist competitions and when they are approaching the line they they start to celebrate but celebrating before finishing. When I was in Ka in a church at the teenagers, I used to talk with the teenagers and one one person gets mocked by others. They are very financially settled. And this person said something about the faith. And all the boys, you know, surrounded her and started to mock her. And this boy said, “It’s very easy to say about faith when you are living in a mansion and have a lot of cars and everything you have.” And he she started to defend herself. And she said, “We have lived in just one room apartment. We have went through all the troubles. We have prayed a lot and God blessed us. I deserve it.” And most of the time we say that before we finish the line, we say that I deserved it and God gave this experiences and when we talk with Israel people they say that you know we went through all those suffering and persecution all those things and why can’t we just sit for a while and eat and drink there is a reason behind why Paul Paul wrote this is not for the sinners and this is for us Let’s read verse 13. No temptation has overtaken you. [Music] And it says that no temptation has overcome you. No. And we know that what is an overtaking means overtake you temptation. And devil always raise behind us to overtake us. And we have a rock that is Christ who is always following us. But there is a temptation that all never leaves us. Always competition. But if we decide to stay and that’s everything that we are done, it’s not the time for a break. Now sometimes God gives us a small period of time and we say that it’s a very short time. This family is a very short time of the kids it’s it’s a blessing. This healing is also a temporary thing. The financial everything is a temporary. nothing is eternal again and we always have a situation that we when once we have a covid we and then we get a flu then we say that oh again we got it and most of the time if we get the same situation, same crisis again in our life, we always question God. And the same thing happened with Israel and saying they are also saying that we have went through all the situation previously and why we have to go through again. They stood for sin. They stood for stood during the sufferings. They stood during the murmuring. Keep running and uh the Holy Spirit is talking to us saying that keep running. Keep running. Yes, we know that in our life the crisis will come, sufferings come but keep running. But we are not going to stop. Keep running. Just because we have unexpected things in our life, please don’t stop. Keep running. And I would like to share few things about the spiritual. We know that there is a fighting between Barnabas and Paul. There was an argument between them. Did they stop sharing the gospel? Was saying how this Paul is always causing trouble. And Paul may be saying that you know the Bernabas is a person without vision everything is and everything is selfish and I’m I’m quitting and maybe Paul may can say that you know I have a business at my home I can go and help my father. And Benas may also say the same thing. They didn’t do the this and both of them they stood for their vision. What Barnabas decided was that he he did not wanted to leave Mark. Now he decided to take Mark along with uh into the Kros. And most of the pastors they stand with Barnabas and we have an intention saying that the vision of the Bernabas was right. Acts chapter 15 14 [Music] No. And it says that Paul chose Silas and left commanded by the brothers to by the grace of the Lord. Even after an argument, we can see that Paul and Barnabas, they are moving with the grace of God. Today is the day we run again. The God has not told us to stop our running. It’s not a time for rest. So therefore, we are not supposed to take a retirement. You can do that retirement from the job. But from our spiritual journey, we are not supposed to take it of time. And let me tell you, every test is not a bad thing. All rests are not wrong. And we can see that Jacob was running from from his brother Isa from um and when they reached B and we can see that Jacob is taking rest and we can see that Jacob stopped running and he’s resting now. Makum is a word that is used there. A specific place which means or a specific place and he did not just stay there and he stood at a specific place. Abraham and you know the people say that the place was the place where Abraham decided to sacrifice his son Isaac and from that place he took a stone and there is this importance of in that place and he took a stone from that specific place and made it a pillow. And it says that you know he took that stone and that stone was used to build altar to sacrifice Isaac. And when he slept on that pillow on that stone he saw the vision and when he saw that particular vision he started to have a contract with God. When we decide to rest in Christ then it’s it will take to for make us move forward in a contract with God and if we decide to rest by our own will then it will make us stop and this temptation will overcome us. And we have to take rest like Jacob and every rest or if you go to in the presence of God and take rest, it’s it’s also not approved by God. And when Jacob decided to rest in Christ and he he approved it. And there was another person who decided to you know take rest in God. And that his name is Elijah. And when Isabel you know he was scared butel actually run three days to Judah. And within three days Elijah with scared he ran to and once he reached Judah there was one more day to desert. So he was in a journey for four days. Do you know when what was his plan? His plan was to go to Mount Sai and there is 40 days long distance and after four days he he was taking rest and we know the story and he ran for another 40 days and after 40 days of walk he reached the God’s mountain of saints. Welcome to the presence. And God is asking Elijah, what what do you want? Why are you here? Who told you to come here? Who told you to come here? See? And he decided to see God. But God is asking what what do you have to do here? And Elijah started to describe everything that happened in his life and he did not address any of his issues. [Music] There are certain techniques why we use in counseling and we can hear a lot of stories from all the people and sometimes we divert from that and the reason why I divert is you know I don’t have to give answers to all those things that they are saying and we decide we find out the most important thing and then we answer And God Elijah is giving all the issues. He’s giving all the issues to the Lord. But God is not giving any answers. And most of the time it’s the same for us. Most of our complaints got not answer we talk about job we talk about our family parents issue kids issues the church issues and God never gives answers to those because we are not standing where we are supposed to do that is not what the most important and God is asking what do we have to do here. And the first thing is you’re not supposed to come here. You have to do three things in Israel. The first thing is you have to anoint Elisha. And Elisha is in Israel. You have to anoint and he is also in Israel. And you have to I think it’s Benh. Benh. It’s it’s another king. Syrian king and it is near the boundary of Israel and all the three things that he has to complete is in Israel and he came here and is taking rest. Uh have you stopped our running? Did we stop our running? Did we start walking? And we started to decide to stay. I deserve this rest. Did we started to say we deserve this rest? And do you think that you know it’s time for praise? If you think you’re standing, be make sure you don’t fall. I’m saying with uh some you know um when the Paul says this it’s very sharp and there are certain reasons that he has given when he says that if you’re thinking you’re staying you make sure you don’t fall but when Jacob went back it was a blessed rest. But we can see that he’s coming back to bed when he and he liked that place and he got a good relation and he got a good relation. So he decided to stay there. There is a word that you know Jacob tells to Joseph. So Jacob says that he got this place by his will and he’s very proud of buying that place and he decided to stay there and that become a dangerous thing. And God is actually know stopping him. God started to advise him and we can see Jacob is fair and God is saying Jacob you have to stand and go back to every rest is not right. uh today what holy spirit has to say is that you have to start running and we can say that Paul is giving um very calm thing and he’s saying that you know the temptation that we have find it’s it’s not bigger than [Music] anything and there is a pastor in California I really respect him Dickman he came from the background of Catholic background he they came to faith and his father had an issue with his stomach treatment and they decided to do treatment but it become worse and he was he’s resting in Christ and I asked him how did you overcome that because when especially when you’re coming from a Catholic background what would you expect what they what they will be saying and the the he get an answer of that particular crisis [Music] today and the temptation that we got is not something unique that nobody else got. There is something in Galatians chapter 5. You you used to warn a lot. Who who stopped you? Who cut on you? Who stopped your running? You have to listen. Nobody can stop our running. There will be lot of issues in our family life, in our in our kids life, in our financial life. But the Holy Spirit has never told us to keep a stop there and stay there. There will be humiliation. The only thing that we have asked is to run. And we know that Eno walked with God. And we can see in Genesis that Hano walked with God and this is not the first time and he took care of his kids and family and then he decided to walk with God. Today is what we have to decide. We have to take a decision now. And from today onwards I’m starting to run. And from today onwards I’m starting to run. It doesn’t matter what the issue is comes coming what circumstances comes in my life I’m started to run. Jude chapter Jude verse 24. To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present at you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy. Praise the Lord. To him who is able to keep you from falling. God has asked us to run. And only God has the God is the one who is keeping us from. It’s not breaks down our skill that we are running. Students, praise the Lord, to him who is able to keep you from falling. What is holding us tight? Is it pride? Is it pain? What is holding us? Holy Spirit. What the Holy Spirit wants us to say is uh you have to run. Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit asking us to run until you run or you walk. I will be with you. The rock of Christ, the rock of Christ, Jesus Christ will be with you. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. But if you decide to stay coverage, there is no coverage and if you start decide to stay there’s no coverage handheld device and when you take a rental device they might say you know if you’re taking a handheld device there won’t be any coverage and if you need a coverage from God in in your Christian life then you cannot stay The word may say no it’s better you stay so that you may not fall but God is saying that do not stand if you stand you will fall do not stand when you are in a in a situation of crisis spiritual pride don’t stand in in the midst of spiritual pride spiritual ignorance do not stand in midst of spiritual ignorance spiritual understanding and it’s it’s like a co both sides of a coin and holy spirit is talking to us whatever happens in our life god knows it go is the god who make helps you to walk you don’t have to go once you reach and if If you go to the aim, you don’t have to move up. And there is dates and there is water in so you do we don’t have to go. God did not call us to live in but God did not call us to live in but God what God wanted us to do is that run towards so therefore del decide that we’ll run today and this is the message that I received from the Holy Spirit I’m just reminding you The message that we all know this is a message towards me and today let’s stop don’t stop and evaluate ourel look in Hebrew it says that look under how how big he is. Yeah. How great is how great he is. He’s talking about Jesus and they pointing out to Jesus who finished his phrase and it’s not time for us to say about and we have to say that a good faithful servant. It’s not a time. So therefore let’s say let’s stand let’s uh submit oursel in the mighty hands of God. Hallelujah. We are asked to run. We are chosen for a responsibility. Do not stop yourself when you are going through a spiritual ignorance or spiritual issues and holy spirit is asking us to move forward. We don’t need any of our reasons. We don’t need any of our excuses. We It’s not time for us to say that we need rest. And God knows when we need rest. And God will give us a temporary time. And God will give us a manner. He will give us meat. He’ll give us dates. He will he bring water from those broth. He will give you all the blessings that you need and he will give you victory over all the enemies. He can stop sun and the moon and wherever the places where you walk, he will give you victory. And holy spirit is asking you to start running. God spirit is asking us to be strengthened. And there is a God who sees your first and the last and his journey has never stopped. And whenever there is a need for you, the rock splits for you. And wherever you go, the rock is there. And this rock is coming behind you. So let’s decide to run today. We surrender before you Lord. Lord, I thank you for the message use for speaking to us today and help us to keep walking, keep running, never to sit down, never to stop, but to trust in you, to drink from that rock and to keep moving. Thank you for blessing each and every one of us. Thank you for blessing our service. All in Jesus name
