The God Of Compassion
The God Of Compassion
Scripture: Luke 7 : 13
May the name of the Lord be praised this morning let us submit ourselves in the presence of the Lord this morning as I have told you before we are in the midst of a very strange and wicked time people don’t know what to do and they’re just running in circles and we are seeing news and hearing of things that are happening in the world but those who worship Him have comfort in him not to be discouraged in the midst of trouble but there’s a God that lives in the midst of our suffering and I greet you all in the name of the Lord uh our savior and I praise God for being with Brother Robinson on his travels there’s nothing impossible with our Lord if we lose a job God is able to give us something even greater that we cannot see and so God opened even Elijah was there during the time of famine but God opened a brook for him and so God could have opened a brook for him but what he did is take him to a new level it could have been a situation where Elijah would have to scoop up water in his hands and maybe there was some utensils there to eat but dear Elijah there’s a there’s a God that sends you with authority to zarap and if he is the god that can take you to Z he is the god that can open the new way for you but we have to wait on the answer of the Lord and we heard a blessed message through brother Justin this past week and one thing we need to understand from that is God loves this church and God the the children that God loves is the one he gives his message to when we go through troubles he is the god that guides us and gives us counil as we walk in our path let us submit ourselves to the words that we hear and follow God with reverence we are living in a world that is moving toward a very treacherous time and let me read a verse for you Luke 7 verse 13 when the Lord saw her he had compassion on her and said to her do not weep three things are seen there The God Who had compassion The God Who said do not weep and then the God who touched me and today that Jesus is this morning whatever your issue is whatever your burden is the god he who has compassion The God Who wipes away our tears God who touches us and heals us he is in our midst if we can understand and medit if we taste and see stand close to him this morning will be a morning of deliverance we worship a god of compassion we know this situation very well chapter 7 ver 11 says now it happened the day after that he went to into a city called n and many of his disciples went with him and a large crowd and this city called Na and the meaning of n means beautiful or joyous even though it has a name of happiness and beautiful but people are coming into this city on that day morning morning and so we see this situation that Jesus is coming into this town the only son of a widow is being carried in an O open coffin through the city and the husband of this woman in in and the recent past passed away and she is alone [Music] but all this time this Widow had this Comfort even though my husband is gone I still have my son I still have a future generation to give me Comfort but now is not the situation her only comfort the only person she had her only son is now removed from this world and she has no way to get Comfort she has no way to be happy she has lost everything that she has had so as this funeral procession is coming through the to the entrance of the city of Na is where they see Jesus but we see that the name of the city means happiness or beautiful but they’re coming with sadness we serve a god when our joy times become sadness he is the one that has compassion on us and comes and touches us to comfort us when Jesus looked at her he said do not weep to the children who are and the parents here to those who are crying and weeping for your situations there’s a Jesus here that looks at you and says with Comfort do not weep we serve a God who turns our mour into dancing Hallelujah 2 Kings chapter 2 verse 19 we see a similar City Hallelujah and the men said to Elisha please notice the situation of the city is pleasant but as you know the water here is bad dear children of God we serve the God no matter what situation we’re going through what whatever the situation uh that our life is going through he is more than enough to straighten our situation whatever it may be please notice the situation of the city is pleasant but as my Lord sees the water is bad and the ground is barren and so two things that are needed in every person is a future generation and water if we don’t have water we cannot survive if we don’t have a future generation the family does not move forward you when I serve the Lord that even while the devil is looking to suppress and oppress our future generation he is the god that opens the new way and he said Elisha said bring me a new bowl and he put salt in it and so they brought it to him and the source of the water became pure no matter how many things that we do in our life we serve a God who has compassion on us if you look at our Behavior or look at our lineage none of us are worthy to sit here even it is the grace and mercy of God that God removed those who are more worthy than us and seated us here today and we should always be people who remember that and be obligated to give him praise no matter what sins we do he is a God that has compassion and we see in Matthew in the gospels that Jesus had compassion touched his eyes and his eyes opened when he was leaving Jericho a great crowd was following him and there was two Blind Men all sitting along the road who were crying out have mercy on us oh Lord son of David in the midst of the crowd in the midst of of the Russia people a Jesus who heard the cry you and I serve the god the Jesus who comes down in the midst of all our cries Hallelujah and many people rebuked these Blind Men said be quiet but they cried out even more saying have mercy on us oh son of David and then in the midst of his cry Jesus Stood Still if we cry out this morning we serve a Jesus will come and stand still in the midst of our cry and Jesus said to them what do you want me to do for you Hallelujah if it was us we would have had a huge list to give to Jesus and those Blind Men said Lord that our eyes may be opened and he said so let it be as your faith and so they received their sight and went their way in Mark chapter 1 vers verse 41 Jesus moved with compassion stretched out his hand and touched him and said be I am willing and immediately the Le leprosy left him and he was whole again and we know the story Mark chapter 1 verse 40 where a leprous man comes to and says if you are willing you can make me clean this morning because God was willing is why you and I are here today many people have desired but still not able to come and many people have tried many ways and cried out but we who have no qualifications no worthiness God brought us here let this be in an attitude of prayer and Holiness and separation in his presence in Mark 10 verse 46 we see another man of blind barus crying out for Jesus and Jesus had compassion and he touched BAS [Music] huah and he’s the one that is with us that says do not cry the one who has compassion is with us the want to touch us is with us so let us submit ourselves this morning huj and we see in Luke chapter 8 about the uh the daughter of gyrus who has passed away and so while everyone is crying in the house Jesus said do not cry do not be afraid for she will be made well is if if he is able to raise the dead daughter of gyrus how much more is he able to raise us up from our dead spiritual condition and lead us in a spiritual way The God Who has compassion is in our midst and the Jesus who said do not cry and has compassion on us and heals us is with us in Luke chapter 8 verse 43 we we see the woman who has the issue of blood we see that Society Outcast her and she sold all that she had to get treatment for her condition and so there is a big problem in society that women like this are out and the law teaches that women that are unclean should be stoned and killed but when she had the willingness to touch the source of love that is Jesus he the willingness to heal her no matter what Society has to say if they Outcast us or or crucify us if we bring our issue to Jesus he will give us Deliverance the the Jesus who had compassion and said do not cry and he looked at her and said be of good cheer do not cry and The God Who has compassion is with us this morning and in Luke chapter 10 we see about the Good Samaritan and we see this Good Samaritan is traveling on the road and sees a man that is beaten Hallelujah and we see that he took care of this man’s wounds and bound him up can we look unto that Jesus this morning he is the god that is able to bind our wounds and there was a priest that went down that road and the levite also went down the road but passed a priest touches a body he becomes unclean and this the same thing with the l but we see that the Good Samaritan put all his other fears aside and took this man who was beaten on the road and gave him a place to stay and this is Jesus last few weeks we’ve been hearing about the Holy Spirit only if we have the Holy Spirit can we move forward we need to know and see how much we really Worship in the Holy Spirit only if our children see how much their parents are worshiping the Holy Spirit can they truly have a desire for that Holy Spirit when Saul was looking for the donkeys of his father he was sent to s and was anointed and we see Saul going to the prophet Samuel to be anointed as king after receiving this anointed when he was coming back people looked at him and said has Saul also become one of of the prophets dear children of God the only way to live in this wicked world is through the help of the Holy Spirit and so the world is under the the burden and the power of the devil and Jesse thought that when Samuel was coming to his house he was coming for an offering but he said I’m not here for an offering I’m here to anoint the next king of Israel that Jesus The God Who is in our midst is able to bind our wounds and this morning we need to turn our eyes turn our attention to that Jesus no matter what our issue is God has an answer to that problemu and this morning let us turn our eyes and submit to him in Luke we see a father having two sons and so we see about this young man he goes back to his father and we know the story behind it how this young son the younger one takes all his father’s wealth and goes to a far a far away land and so he wasted all his uh father’s money and with his friends living a lavish lifestyle and then he F finally ran out of he started to think of his father’s [Music] house and we see this son who is thinking about his father’s house and he realized my father’s house has so many servants I just want to come back as one of the servants that hired help in my father’s home and so we read there it says he got up and went to his father but we see from a great far off his father saw him had compassion ran to him and fell on his neck and kissed him and the we have a father who has compassion on us and Embraces us the father who kisses us is with us today we have a father who forgives us of our sins but are we ready to come back to him and this morning that Jesus is looking to touch you this morning that Jesus wants to pour His holy spirit on you for and today that Jesus wants to embrace you and this morning this Jesus wants to bind up your wounds and this morning that Jesus wants to apply ointment to your wounds if you’re giving your yourself to be poured out he is willing to fill you this morning and to to pour out to touch and to embrace Jesus is here for that let us fully submit our heart to him let’s give ourselves to him and he is the god that is able to pour out into us no one puts new wine into an old wine skin no one does that because then the new wine will become spoiled and so the new wine will not last in the old wine skin there is a type A type and way to pour let us be a new wine skin a new vessel in his midst God is wanting us to come to a new situation Hallelujah and that vessel is our own body and the wine is representing the Holy Spirit and the one who pours is our father and he is the god if we are willing to give ourselves as a new vessel he will pour the new wine into our us so that we can become a new person let us give our hands into the hands of the maker so that our spiritual life is safe our family life is safe so the future of our children is safe the holy spirit that came up in the upper room still lives today and we need that Holy Spirit that same power that came down in the house of Cornelius is what we need today we cannot move forward without the Holy Spirit he is the god that is able to touch us the Jesus that has compassion the Jesus that has Embraces us let us submit ourselves this morning and let him remake us into a vessel that is able to pour the new wine not as an old vessel but as a new vessel because the God who wants to pour out is with us and the wine is with him and he is able to fill us in these days let us be full of the spirit let our children be full of the spirit let our church be led by the spirit and the Holy Spirit is what convicts us of sin righteousness and judgment and let’s submit ourselves in the hands of our creator and when he pours out it is overflowing and it becomes an outpouring not up to our feet or our knees but beyond what we can even cross let us submit ourselves this morning let us stand this morning will you submit yourselves he is the god that is able to pour out his spiritu will you submit yourself let this body which is the vessel be submitted to him so he can pour out his [Music] spirit let us pray God Purify Me [Music] [Music] for for [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] sh [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] for [Music] [Applause] foren [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] for [Music] [Applause] [Music] for the [Music] [Applause] [Music] sh sh [Music] this morning let us move to that first century movement we cannot move without the anointing of the Holy Spirit he couldn’t lead the people without an anointing that’s why Saul was first anointed that’s why David was anointed first otherwise he couldn’t lead the people David was able to defeat Goliath not because of King Saul’s armor or because of his brother’s strength but because of his the anointing that was on him this morning let that anointing be poured out on us he is the god that is able to pour it out he is right next to us he is with us and he is the god that is able to pour it out on us but we have to purify this vessel if you submit this Earthly tent but he is the god that is able to pour it out on us may God bless us with these words
