Thanksgiving can easily become something we practice only when circumstances are going well. But Colossians 1:12\u201313 points us toward something deeper: thanksgiving flows from knowing who God is and what He has already done for us.
\nGive Thanks to God
\nFor our meditation, let us turn our attention to Colossians chapter 1 12 and 13. Give thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. For he rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved son. We see a prayer that Paul is praying. Paul is praying for the church of Colossians. He is teaching the church of Colossians and telling them let everybody praise and thank the Lord. We should learn how to thank the Lord because we are Indians. It is a little tough thing to give thanks. It is an easier thing for the Americans because they thank everybody for everything. We have not learned how to say thank you. And we know how to say a bad thing about the other person. Praise the Lord. We are we’re going to go home and the time has come. Amen. All our programs today are being are being walking according to the time she do not give ourselves to the Holy Spirit. We think that singing two three songs is what worship is Sunday. Is it only the Sunday that we all Sunday is a convenient day for us? So we come and praise the Lord. Hallelujah. It is our duty to praise God. It is our duty to give thanks to the father. We can divide uh divide the people of this world in three ways based on the thanksgiving. Uh we don’t have much time to describe everything. Are we a person who give thanks? Do we give praises from our heart? A person who is praying will give praise. So to tell you the truth, we do not give need to give more time to pray but more time to give thanks. more time to give thanks instead of giving more time to prayer. Why is that? Because there is praise in prayer. There are many people in the p who are in Pentecost that who do not have peace. There are no peace in the Pentecostal. Why is that? because they don’t apply this thing. We should ask everybody to pray. They don’t have themselves a time to pray. They don’t have time to worship God. We should be able to worship alone. We should be able to praise God alone. We should uh reduce the list of our our needs. We should give more time to thank the father. We should start practicing it. We should practice this thing. Why do we need to practice that? Because we are the child of a living God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. If we start, if we realize that we are the child of God, we do not need to look our left or right, but we will start giving praise to the father. So praise is a very important thing in prayer. the ask for needs and praising God. It should be all everything should be in prayer. Let me conclude my words quickly.
\nUnderstanding the Nature and Character of God
\nWe know what the word praise means. Repeat. Let me tell you that one more time. If we realize who God is, what he is with the whatever comes out of our m from our mouth is praise. among us. How many churches would would pray like this? The knowledge about God. Hallelujah. How how many of us know how our God is, who our God is, selfexistent.
\nOur God is a self-existent God. Amen. Our God does not need our help to reside somewhere. What h what is our thought process about praise and worship? If I don’t worship will my will will will my God come down if I don’t worship God will my God will become small that is not how my God is my God is an unchanging God we read in Psalms that our God resides on our praises That does not mean that when I start praising God will come down. What does that mean? Is when we say that we need to understand who God is, the importance of God, the holiness of our God. Is there any any is is is there any reduction in the worship in the heavens?
\nOh, there is no scarcity in heaven. Heaven is such a place where is where there is no problem, no problem, no issues. There is no scarcity in heavens for worship there. There there is no arrangement. They need they don’t have to call people to come worship God. But let me tell you people of God there is a change in our worship. There’s a difference in our worship. We are There is a worship of unchanged people of God. We have been called by We have been washed by the blood of Jesus. Understanding who God is, understanding his importance and holiness is what praise is. Our God is a strengthened God.
\nHe knows everything. He is present everywhere. He is present everywhere. He said, “He’s a God who is present in the Holy Ghost. He’s righteous God. Hallelujah. He’s a gracious heavenly father. He’s alone enough to do many great things. He’s a God who holds my hand. He’s a God who knows my inside. He is a God who knows my heart and desires more than me. And why am I upset? The Lord who knows all of my desires more than me.
\nOh, he knows my future.
\nHe knows my future. Hallelujah. He knows my future. Hallelujah. If we understand who God is and his nature, we can truly worship and praise him.
\nMinistry Journey and Closing Exhortation
\nI am a person who have been worshiping the idols. From that situation, I I humbled myself before the God who has separated me from the idols. I humbled myself that I got an opportunity to stand and preach among you all. It is God who has brought me this far. It is God who has made me stand among you all. So the people of the my parents who were standing against my faith, they are still not in faith. We are five brothers. I am the eldest one. My brothers would not accommodate me. background. It is only recently that one my sister would uh somehow will some often will call me and say ask about my asked about me and told me once that he she needs to get baptized. From 1983 I was in North India doing the ministry of the God and God has been helping me. For past 17 years, 27 years, I have been ministering in the state of Gujarat and I have preached in many churches in Gujarat. I don’t have to ask anybody to give me an option, give me an opportunity to preach. But it is God who is leading me. I did not bow before anybody’s feet, but it was only before the Lord that I bow down. I I I I respect the ministry. That is the only reason that I do not say I will not say any any needs that I have. A God is a faithful God. He’s a God who can help me lead walk in until the end. World evangelism. One of my main prayer request was world evangelism. I am a person who loves people of many different languages. That is the only reason we we were invited by pastor Joey and his wife to move around drive around the world and in the states to preach the word of God. We have got many tracks and word of God so that we may preach his word because of the gospel. Me and my wife have been persecuted many times. How muchever we are being persecuted but the word of God will never end. The encouragement that we have will never finish because of the persecution. If it is death then let it be. So even though even though we can be we can be turned into the ashes but still we we submit oursel unto the mighty hand of God.
