The message from Jonah ultimately becomes a message about purpose. The God who prepared a way for Jonah is also the God who knows each of us, created us uniquely, and calls us to live for His purposes.
What Is God’s Purpose for My Life?

After a long time we are getting back to the uh Jonah. It was last year in September that I spoke something from Jonah. Um, why did God create a a whale for Jonah? I I believe that Lord has Lord gave me the power to save from that word. I read something related to that uh that that incident more. I was meditating more on that word but I somehow slipped from that topic. It could be that that the reason why I might have slipped away. It could be because I was not that encouraged or enthusiast for that. While I was ignoring that topic, that is the that is the time when God was speaking to me more. Usually when I meditate the word of God more and more deeper that that gives me more and more strength. But this topic is very simple. We can listen to it in a relaxed manner. That is why I stand before you all and the Lord that to bring a simple message. Most of the servant of the Lord preach uh preach from the topic about uh something in heaven or about the spiritual blessings. What I want to say preach today is something else. When we read in Colossians, we read it says like do not look at the worldly things but which is in which is in heaven which is It it is good to think about what is in heaven or which is in above. But we can only think about that when we reach there. I request you all to be in the prayer. a very simple message. Let me just remind what I was preaching then and I will move into my topic today. Let’s read from the word Jonah chapter 1 vers 17. Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah. Mediterranean in the Mediterranean Sea while the ship was moving uh in the sea. The Jonah was thrown into that. The heavenly god in order to save Jonah assigned a huge fish. And Jonah was in the belly of that fish for three days. And that was not a punishment by God, but it was a great plan from God. 80 to 90 years. Uh age the age of a huge fish or a swallow could be around 18 to 19 years. It could be that we God might have assigned a a young a young fish. Because that assignment was not a easy thing. It needed some hard work and dedication so that God might have assigned a young fish. It could be that before the happening of that incident, God might have created a huge fish 40 to 50 years ago. When I was thinking that Lord give me a word from Genesis chapter 1 20 The the heavenly god created the creatures for six days. We can based on this word we cannot believe that God created a huge fish or a fish to save Jonah 40 to 50 years ago. something that uh that encourages me. In BC8 when the Jonah was thrown into that sea out of the ship, the Lord has already planned a created a fish to save him. When we go through some troubles and problems, we might think the next day God will open a ways for us. But what I think is before the even the creation of this world, God has already planned a way out for every troubles that comes into our life. So why did God only create a big huge whale instead of a dolphin?
Lessons from Marine Biology: Dolphins vs. Whales
I want to share two incidents for that. In 2004, just before the shores in one in New Zealand, a coast guards were set on that shore. The coast guards were praying on swimming and they saw a white shark and they saw that shark was swimming around. The intention of that shark was not that good because the shark was coming towards these coast guards. We saw something miraculous happened there. What happened is when the white shark was coming towards them, they saw a a a group of dolphins coming towards them as well. The dolphins are kind of enemies towards the shark. What that group of dolphin did is they they uh they surrounded these coast guards to save them. So the coast started to go towards the shore to save themselves. It took about 40 minutes and the dolphins were still protecting them. Let me take you to another incident. In 2005 towards the shore of Taiwan, there was a a cruise ship that got sunk. about 15 travelers who were on that cruise ship. They were they were sinking down and they saw the dolphins around them. When the dolphins saw these the these travelers were dying, they started to round they started to surround those travelers. They they started a big protection around those travelers. There were some travelers who were tired of saving themselves and those dolphins started to protect them and pick them up. There were two kids among those travelers. Those kids since they did not know swimming, these dolphins were helping them from sunk sinking down. The dolphins are making sure that these kids are breathing well. That dolphin saved all those 15 travelers who were dying. marine biologist. Why did those dolphins save those travelers or people? A marine theology says like this dolphin just like dolphins save their own kids. That is how the dolphins were trying to save those people. biologist. The marine biologist tells about two specialtities of the dolphins. The two intelligent creatures in the sea are one is a big whale and dolphin. These dolphins try to protect everybody who uh everybody who is dying or they have tendency to save people. These dolphins have a big brain called as neotorrtoise. Problem solving emotion neoortex. The neoortex is a bra part of the brain which handles the uh emotional support and problem solvings and we know dolphins have saved many people who were dying in the sea. The sharks won’t come near to these dolphins. After hearing all this about dolphins, let me ask a hypothetical question. Why did God still not use dolphins to save Jonah? There were two reasons for that. There was kind of argument between Jonah and the Lord. Yona want wanted that the people of Nino be punished. But that is not what the Lord wanted. The Lord wanted the people of Nino to repent and they be saved. And we we see that Jonah needed a spiritual surgery. If it was a dolphin, there would not be any spiritual surgery happening to her. Close doors operate. What happened inside that big fish uh for three days was it was like a closed door in a surgery room. And that is one of the reason that God appointed the blue whale or big whale for that. It was a a very apt creature to uh to fulfill the purpose of God.
Discovering True Life Purpose vs. Worldly Wealth
What is the purpose of our lives? Let me ask you a question. What is the purpose of our life? We were not accidentally coming into this world. Whatever our education be, whatever our behavior be, but every person has has a plan from God. How much of a smaller church is if you want to grow that small church into a mega church, it does not take much effort. It was the advertisement that brings them to become like a mega church. There’s a tagline that big churches use to trap some people. There was a tagline that came into my mind create created to be millionaires. Let us think about a tagline. If we give created to be a millionaire created to be millionaires within five years God does not wants us to be poor. So let us give a tag to the church that God created a millionaire and we’ll see a change in there. Because we live in this world which is running after wealth. This world which does not have any value. The God did not call us to build kingdoms on this world. So we need to find out what our real purpose is. Building the kingdom of God. The powerful Lord, the powerful king, the main purpose of the king is to build the kingdom of God. And we need to be a part of that plan. And that is why God has called us. And being a parents is also our duty to tell our kids what is the real purpose that is for the parents especially for young parents. How when and where can we start a purpose in our kids that they can love the god? There’s no vision in many of the parents that how to bring our kids into that. If somebody will come ask me is that how you raised your kids that I’ll say no I did not even have an idea how to do that.
Parenting and Guiding the Next Generation
Let us suppose that I went to a store and I bought a shirt that I liked. When I went to my home and I tried it on it I I found out that it was bigger in size. I’ll not throw it away, but instead I’ll take it to a tailor to alter it to my size. In my younger age, I lived a good life and I being being living that good life. I thought about this incident. And if you believe or if you think uh in in a way that you lived your life, it can be a beneficial for you as well. Being a grandparent, I saw I noticed or saw something and I want to show share my experience what I noticed. If we go to some stores or a bookstore, we will find many books which will tell you how to raise a generation or how to raise your kids. But there is no book in the history that tells you that you can raise your kids perfectly. Every child is a unique creation of God. That why is that? Because there’s a line which says that every child is a unique creation of God. If if everybody is unique, think of it that how many books do we need to raise everyone? 8.3 billions. Today’s population of this world is around 8.9 billion in the about two uh the 2 million of the population is about uh the kids of around under the age of 15 billion books and that way we’ll have to write that much of books for those kids. There’s a saying that every that there are seven people looking similar. We might see many people around us which look similar to other people. But if you look around the whole world, you will not find two people of same identity. identity. Even if they are twins, you might find some similarities, but they won’t be of same identity. Every person is a unique creation of God. What that shows is that every every creation is a unique creation of God. Masterpiece. We each and every one of us are a masterpiece of God. masterpiece. We should not think that God created some with a dedication and some of them with God was not dedicated. masterpiece. My fellow people, let me tell you, do not think likewise because God has created each one of us as a masterpiece designed and created to fulfill his purpose. God has designed and created us to fulfill his purpose. masterpiece. We should be attentive to our kids and look after them because they are not a not a normal human but they are a masterpiece of God. When we look at the packaging which are loaded onto a caros brittle, handle with care, we see there’s a label which says brittle or fragile or handle with care, breakable. What that means is those are breakable packages inside and you need to take care of it carefully. We need to raise our kids in a fearful manner. Being a parents, we have a big responsibility to tell our kids to raise our kids for the purpose of God to help them raise as per for the purpose of God. Where can we get them the required trainings? Since the day they were born, that is the day that we start our responsibility towards that mission. There’s a servant of God who I respect a lot. They raise their kids and their kids are very fearful in God. I asked Lord that how did they how were they able to raise the kids in such manner. The servant of Lord said it was nothing that I did. I only have done some simple things in them. Every day there is a family prayer. Even if they are just a couple of days older, they they they started to see that we were in we were praying to the Lord. When kids go to sleep, we will go to their room and bless them and pray. when they when they go to the schools, we will keep our hands on their heads and we’ll pray and bless them. We’ll encourage them to go to Sunday school. We’ll tell them to sit accordingly, properly, and fearfully in the sanctuary. That is how much we did. But it was only the go work of work of God and grace of God that they grew up as per the God. There was a time when we did not have anything to eat or we anything to eat. But when we when we were raising our kids, we would bless and praise the Lord when we have the food to give to our kids. Even if the kid does not realize or understand that but the the older the elder parent knows that what he is doing that kids will understand the message one day. Let me tell you one thing that I am assured that if you’re raising the kids such manner nobody would be lost 2,300 to 2,500 words we need to understand in the initial days about like until five years almost 2,000 words are the kids learning There are many parents who use those age age uh age period to teach their kids the memory verses and teaching them to pray.
Four Essential Truths for Young Children
Perfect start. That is a good thing. But what I was thinking is how can we give them a more perfect start to have them a good spiritual start. How can we do that or what can we do for that? Let me tell you a thought that God gave me. From the younger age to the around 5 years of old they need to understand or they need to learn some things in the initial five years. They we don’t need to teach them some bigger things. You are a unique creation. We just need to teach them. The child only need to understand that he or she is a unique creation. You are wonderfully made. And the second thing is you are wonderfully made. That kid won’t ever think that he is being ignored. Unique creation of God. When he grows, when he grows and he will realize that he is a unique creation of God, capacity, I am wonderfully made. Whatever his physical appearance be or his intelligence, emotions be but he needs to understand that he is a unique creation of God. I am a unique creation of God. We need to understand that he is not a normal human being or a normal person but a unique creation of God.
You have a great create a great and loving creator. His name is Jesus.
The next thing that the kid needs to understand is that he has or that that you have a great creator and the creator is Jesus. until the age of five. We just need to teach the childrens just these three things. Second, your creator has a plan and purpose for your life. The next thing that the kids needs to understand is that the creator has a purpose for you. And when we are raising them, we need to uh this is how we need to teach them to pray. Lord, help me to understand your plan and purpose for my life. Lord, teach me to understand the purpose that you have for me. We raise these kids until the age of seven or eight with these teachings and let me assure you that they will grow in spirit. Let me conclude or tell you something more about these four points.
Elaborating on Creation and God’s Masterpiece
Let me tell you the start with the third point. You have a great and loving creator. His name is Jesus. You have a great and loving creator whose name is Jesus. When the Lord created the creation, he created them with a powerful word of his from his mouth. And we read in Genesis 1:es 3, God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light. He created every creation through his powerful word. And when he created the first creation, Adam and Eve, he did not just command, but he used his own hands to create them. Even though he created the living creatures, the birds and the animals with his commands, but he created Adam and Eve with his own hands. There’s another question here. The Lord created Adam and Eve with his hands. Then how can we say that that how are we saying that God created each one of us as we are his generation? Psalms 139 13 we see an answer to that. You are the one who created me and you chose me from my mother’s womb. English, you knit me together in my mother’s womb. In Jeremiah chapter 1, we read that God knew before we were in the mother’s womb, before I formed you. And the uh when a child is born, he is not being uh he is not being coming into an accident, but he is being created by the Lord. Before my existence, he knew me. It says before the existence that the Lord knew us. Before my existence, he had the blueprint of each and every one of us on his table. blueprint before even we were born or we were in the belly the God had a blueprint for us is is evident that the heavenly god created us with his hands you are a unique creation. Second point is you are a unique creation. What makes us unique? We were created by the hands of the Lord. That is why that what that is what makes us unique. He took the soil in his hand to form us. And let me tell you, wherever the hand of God has been, there the there is deliverance. We are from dust and we will be going back to dust. But let me tell you the what makes us unique is that we are created by his hand.
The Value of Handcrafted Work: The Bugatti Illustration
Let me tell you one of an expensive cars $3 million. As per a report in 2021, there was a car of Bugatti that is around 3 millions. $80 million and there are some models of Bugatti which are cost which cost around 80 millions. Why is this car so expensive? factory. Most of the cars are being manufactured in in the factories. The what what is different about the Bugatti is Bugatti model just like other manufacturers they don’t use some automated AIS or machines to create this Bugatti technician All these parts of this Bugatti car are being assembled by human hands being a specialist hands. There’s a factory in France which is which creates or assembles Bugatti. They they are only not specialized in assembly of this car. They are good. They they can do good things with their hands. We don’t have much time to tell you more about this Bugatti. station. These cars are assembled or produced in 12 different stations. It takes few years to assemble one car. There it’s been like 14 titanium bolts are used near the engines to manufacture it. This car has around 3,700 parts. And these 3,700 parts are being assembled by the specialist hands. Why is this card so valuable? Because this Bugatti is being assembled using the hands of the specialist. That is why it is more valuable than other cars which are manufactured by the factories or machines. If our kids come back home and tell you that I need to buy this car or I need that car, please uh do not motivate them. Maintenance because the maintenance cost of that car is much more higher than we think. oil change, brake change, tire rotation, software update, $20,000 to $50,000.
It takes around 20 to $50,000 to have some maintenance yearly on that car. Brake disc $200,000. It takes around $200,000 to if you want to replace some parts on that expensive car.
Wheel replacement, $69,000. It takes around $69,000 to just to replace that wheel. $156,000. It takes around $856,000 to change or to rebuild that engine itself. People of God, if that car is so expensive, how much valuable we are if our God has created us with his own hands? number left. If we have the number the zeros counting for our behaviors or intelligence or whatever it is, but when the Lord God puts a number one towards with it and that’s how we get a valuable number. I’m concluding my message due to time. If God has created us with his own hands and we are so valuable, we need to understand and fulfill the purpose of God.
Conclusion: The Two Most Important Days of Your Life
I want to conclude this or end this sermon by saying what a one of a famous writer said once his name was Mark Twain the greatest humorist he’s known as America’s greatest humorist he’s one of a famous writer William Mark Twain is the father of American literature. One of the famous uh one of one of another famous person who is who said that Mark Twain is one of the greatest in writing in literature. I I have to remember I will always remember two days in my life. The Mark Twain said like this that I will remember two days. The day I was born the day when I realize why I am here. Let me tell you the spiritual meanings towards that and I’ll end it are the more the most important uh two days of our life.
The day I was born again the day I was born again the day when I realized my the purpose why I am here the purpose of my life. the the the the most important thing that we can find in this world is the two days of our life. The first one the day we were born again. The second day the we realize the purpose of a calling. priorities after listening to all this all this message including me we need to understand we need to prioritize our daily life in a Christian life we might say many people might say I cannot forget the day that I got like first car or one of the greatest car. I dreamt of buying a house and I built it and I bought that house and I cannot I can never forget that day. We need to remove those thoughts and rep prioritize. And we need to say the most important day of my life is the day I realize that the Jesus hung on that cross to save me and you. The second important day of my life should be the day that I realize the purpose and calling of God. Lord, help me to understand your plan and your purpose for my life. May God bless us in coming days. Let us and let us the parents and the childrens be able to pray that Lord help us to understand the purpose and calling that you have for us. Let God may God bless each one of us.
