The Lamb That Was Slain
The Lamb That Was Slain
Scripture: Revelation 5:6
Once again I greet you all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I thank God for he gave me one more opportunity in my life to share his word and I hope that the few moments uh which we are spending before the word of God be truly a blessing moment for all of us. uh for the short meditation. Uh I would like to draw your attention to uh the book of Revelation chapter 5 and verse 6. and between the throne and the four living creatures. And among the elders, I saw a lamb standing as though it had been slain with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Hallelujah. Can anyone uh read in Malayalam ? Amen. When we read this particular verse, we can understand that it’s a part of uh a heavenly revelation uh a vision which uh John the apostle saw. uh and we can see that vision what he saw of the heaven from chapter 4 and it’s it ends in fifth chapter. The Lamb who was Slain Now uh it’s very difficult to uh describe the heavenly vision in a human language. Human language is not enough to explain or to comprehend the depth and the height and the width. It’s it’s not easy and heaven is cannot be put in time. Heaven is beyond the time and human language it is not enough to explain the heavenly things. So what is the proof? Paul himself admitted that I don’t know whether I am in body or in spirit. I was taken up to the seven heavens and I saw the things which I am not able to describe it. So he he didn’t have any words to explain. For example, if if I go in a uh time machine, if I go into the time machine, I I I like go back like 200 years back and I show the people what is this? Then will anyone can say it is mobile 100 years back? No. Because no one can speak what it is. It’s it looks like black something like it’s like it’s a rectangular. it’s black. That’s what they can say. In the same way uh chapter 4 is like that John is not able to explain the person sitting on the throne and every time it says that it seems like it appears like if if anyone has is not if anyone is observing me coming from a long distance they say it look it looks like an no but with shity you cannot say unless we see face to face. So it’s like that means something like that. Something like that. Something like that. But you know that John was very specific when he described the lamb. He said he he looks like lamb. It’s not like that. No. Understand what I mean to say? When it was about the uh description of Jesus Christ, so he didn’t say, did he say like that? I saw something like a lamp. No. It was a it was a lamb. Now it’s a very big event is going on in the heaven. No, big event big big spacious very very holy and very great moment was going in heaven. No. And normally when there is a great function, everyone is dressed very well. The person who is sitting on the throne, no it’s a inapproachable light. No. And how preciously the person who is sitting in the throne is compared with precious stones. God was in his majesty. Then the four creatures that also was in majesty. The 24 elders golden crown on their heads they also were in majestic appearance. It was like a big marriage function. No like a big function where everyone is dressed super. But there was one person I don’t want these things. I don’t want to dress up like that. And I think that no sane person will attend such very precious occasions in a poorly dressed way. Everyone tries to put up their appearance in a very beautiful way. Everyone. But Jesus is against all the logic. No Jesus know how he came when he came there anyone who looks Jesus in heaven they say he was slain so how we can know he’s slain so that mean that should be blood it should be disfigured. Okay. Why Jesus took this particular why did and you know Jesus amazing person amazing person when Jesus was ascended to the heavens and afterward Jesus came the first time he appeared before Paul and when he appeared before Paul you know that Paul couldn’t see Jesus he was brighter than the sun when he appeared on the Now when we read the revelation chapter 1 at that time we can see that when Jesus appeared before John how he was brighter than the sun he was he fainted before Jesus majestically Jesus came on the earth. No. But when he was in heaven, what was his uniform? He had blood on his body. He had scars on his body. His head might be bleeding. You know why Jesus appeared in that? And he was standing there. because he was still doing the high priestly ministry for you and me. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Ask Jesus which is the best uniform you like. Then he says that I like the uniform of the slain lamb. Hallelujah. Now see another question I will ask. We all know that what happens in rapture. The one when the trumpet when Jesus will appear on the skies, the trumpet will sound and the dead who are raised up and the we who are alive will be transformed in which uniform uniform? Which uniform we will wear? We will all take the glorious body. No. But what is the choice of Jesus Christ? I love Jesus. That’s why I’m telling this. Hallelujah. And this time I’m taking that. I don’t want to preach much. I just want to describe my Christ and I got my reward. Hallelujah. I want to describe the love of Christ for you. No woman can forget the labor pain when they have delivered the child. That’s a precious moment for the woman, for a mother. In the same way for the Christ, the most spacious and special and the powerful and the most emotional the moment is the death on the Calvary cross. Hallelujah. And he always want to remind us that that this is my love. So the lamb who was slain which John saw in the heaven. What that was reminding Jesus is reminding that even though I am in heaven I think about you. I care for you. I serve you. Hallelujah. And my imagination is that my imagination why I’m using that images I don’t bother about the theology but I just want to express God’s love. That’s what that’s that’s my theology. Why did if I ask why Christ you were in this uniform? Why couldn’t you appear before the throne where the father sits as you appeared before John and as you appeared before Paul? Then Jesus will say my son everything I’m doing is for you only beta my son dear child I’m I I have taken this this form before my father it’s because of you only when you sin no you are not completely holy as long as you are in the earth you will be sinning you will be sinning and my father is very very very angry about the sin he doesn’t tolerate sin he doesn’t tolerate the hypocrisy he he doesn’t tolerate any sinful things. So when you come before that, my father doesn’t want to see you in that place. So what I I come before you and father. I I I put myself as a lamb who was slain because in this uniform the father gods can see the price which I have paid for you and when he sees the price he can’t be angry against you. So hide on my back. Hallelujah. That’s why Christ is wearing this uniform for you and me. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You know when uh gospel of John when we read in the uh chapter 17 at that time Jesus prayer was that father the glory which I had before the foundation of the world before you give that glory back to me. And God gave him that glory back. But we all think that what is that glory? We all think that God Jesus in a very powerful uh powerful uh appearance blazing fire. He was like that only before. You know what was the glory? Our understanding of glory and God’s understanding of glory is totally different. What is what is the God’s glory? You know what is Jesus glory? You know he was already great. The glory is that though he was great highest of highest he was able to come the lowest of lowest. Hallelujah. That is the glory. No one can see the inside self. No, such a egoistic. No. And it’s very difficult to come down. You know it’s it’s very difficult to come down and say I am sorry. I have done a mistake. I am low. No one tries to say that. Even one I am preaching in some moments I can also be so much egoist. I can also be so much proud. But my Christ hallelujah. The humblest of humble. Hallelujah. And you know that is the glory. And if I ask and if anyone ask you what do you like about Christ? I say the humbleness, the washing of the disciples feet. Hallelujah. That is what I like. Hallelujah. That is the glory. That is the glory. Hallelujah. And and when that’s why when he was in heaven and and when he was before standing before the father. Hallelujah. How he was it shows this humble nature. Hallelujah. The uniform which he wear. What not a glorious uniform. We always we human beings always like to appear before humans no very lifted up. Hallelujah. We like the praises of the people. No. So that’s why we sometimes we talk like that. We wear like that. Okay. But Christ is not like that. In the highest of heavens how he appeared very simply. Hallelujah. Very simply you know I don’t know how to describe. God forgive me if I’m not able to explain your people the way you are. Hallelujah. Just one thing I remind you. Hallelujah. What Christ can do for us, no one can do that. No one can do that. No one can do that. What Christ has done for us. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. The way he appeared before the father as a lamb who was slain. No. In English if you read that it is written as though it had been slain. Can anyone tell me if if you look in the Bible can anyone tell me what I have read is different from what is that in your Bible or it’s same? I am using ESV English standard version. Is it that as it had been or as it has been or as it is being? How it is? As it had been. Okay. There is a limitation of the English language is it? I I was a grammar teacher so I know that it is as it had been is a passive past perfect. Okay. So when we change into in Greek uh so it was from Greek. So from Greek it was translated to past perfect uh perfect participle passive form. Okay that that was in uh English and then also it cannot be completely meaningful. But when we study Greek which is in perfect passive participle that you know what is the meaning is totally different something has happened in past I’m repeating something has happened in past and the effect is still going on hallelujah hallelujah That’s why in the Hebrew it is written Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. And heaven doesn’t have any time. Yesterday, past, present, nothing. Heaven doesn’t have any time. It’s always going on. Hallelujah. So, still my Christ is in which uniform? Hallelujah. The slain uniform. Hallelujah. Still you receive the same love, same grace, same help from Jesus Christ because he’s still standing before the father god with the duty of a high priest. Not just doing ritualistic he has given he has labored like a mother to give us birth. So still he is having the pain. That’s why father God word of God says though father and mother forsake you I will never forsake you. What is the proof? Christ gave birth to me. Christ gave birth to me. Can you put hands on your chest and say that Christ gave birth to me? Just not honoring the word of Anil Matthew. Just honoring Jesus Christ. Christ gave birth to me. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So what is there to fear? We have all right to be more optimistic, more hopeful and more confident. Hallelujah. and more blessed than any of the people who don’t know God. Hallelujah. How much Christ loves us. Hallel how much Christ loves us, we can’t explain through the human language. This message, no this time which I preach, that is also not enough. That is not enough. May God bless you through these words. Amen. Praise the Lord.
