New Life in Christ

This song was originally composed in a Hindi language and this was written by KD but known as Kishan Dutbut. He was from the Brahmin community. So when he accepted Jesus Christ uh he had faced so many opposition in his life and then when he took the water baptism and when he experienced the joy and transformation in his life he wrote this song. I used to hear this song in very my childhood. I think first time I I remember hearing this song sung by a pastor Kjoy. Uh so that song created a deep impact in my life and also I can relate with that song. Hallelujah. So this song I was sung because two of our kids got the water baptism. So uh Manu pastor told me how to speak something related to uh water baptism and encourage the young children. Baptism is a uh very wonderful experience. I remember NG when she was uh giving the testimony, she said that uh it’s a personal journey with Jesus Christ. It’s absolutely correct. Hallelujah. When I took water baptism, I was not uh really uh saved because at the time uh in my church there was a Bible study going on, the second coming of Jesus Christ and my pastor very wonderfully presented the Bible study. I was so scared all about the antichrist 666 and all that tribulation period. Okay. and Christ can come anytime. So I thought that Christ may come anytime. So I have to take baptism. That’s how I took water baptism. But really I came to know Christ at the age of 23. Not in a crusade, not in a fasting prayer, not at church, sitting at home. God directly spoke to me. And then I began to realize the night has gone. The night it’s a nightmare. the life without Jesus Christ. And when we truly hold the hands of Jesus, no, we are never in darkness. Hallelujah. When Jesus was born, nothing extraordinary things uh happened. And when Christ died at that time, many extraordinary things, supernatural things happened. But equally great thing happened when Jesus took the water baptism. Yesterday pastor told that he walked 70 miles to get water baptism. Jesus never required to be baptized and I will give a I will get a convinced answer from Jesus when I will meet him on the heaven or maybe when I sit in the presence of God I may ask deeper things. Why did you uh because I’m not convinced uh by the preaching or by the one word of Jesus one sentence of Jesus Christ. Let all the righteous be fulfilled. I want more something from Jesus. Why you took the water baptism? And you know that if you read the four gospel, it says that Jesus experience the coming of the Holy Spirit and then the voice from heaven. But it is also written that even John saw the Holy Spirit in the form of Dao descending upon Jesus Christ when he took water baptism. So there was a presence of triune God during the time of Jesus Christ baptism. The father, the holy spirit and the son. Hallelujah. So when you are taking a water baptism with really understanding the meaning of it then is truly a marvelous experience, wonderful experience. It is the opening of the supernatural world before you when you are baptized. In the epistles to Hebrews, it is written that some of the Christian believers are like infants. So what does that mean? That when you are born again, when you are taken baptism, you are in an infant stage and you have to grow up in the family of God. In the sonhood you have to grow because the Bible says that if you are still infant then you are just like a slave in the family and the experience of being a slave is same with the person born in the family of God and in still infant. So baptism is just a starting point. It’s not the finishing point. It’s just a start starting point. It starts with the spirit and it’s and it’s it should end with the spirit because when Jesus Christ came out of water says that Jesus was driven by, you know what Jesus was driven by? the Holy Spirit to where to synagogue or to the kana’s wedding ceremony. No, when Jesus took water baptism, the Holy Spirit led him to wilderness. And how many days he stayed in the wilderness? 40 days. Jesus was trying to show the world that you can spend 40 days in the wilderness without the mana and without the water. Because Jesus want to prove that it is possible to live in the life of wilderness without the bread. You know to whom he want to show to his own people because God said to the people who went out went to Cananan to spy as a spice and then when they came back and the 10 reported it is impossible to conquer the land of Cananan. Only two people was outstanding people. Outstanding. No, not standing with the group but outstanding. These two outstanding people Joshua and Calb says we can do it. But the 10 10 said we don’t want to do it. And five lakh five lakh 99, 98 people said we can’t do it. Then God says Jesus said perish. And they perished. You know for how many years they wander in the wilderness? 40 years. And Jesus spent how many days in the wilderness? 40 days. Both Joshua did the both Joshua and Jesus did the same thing. Sitting in the presence of God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

So Jesus took water baptism and where Jesus went to the wilderness. Now there was a entire community who took water baptism under the cloud and under the sea. When Manu pastor told me that you have to give message on water baptism. So I was just traveling through Bible what I should read. what I should uh meditate and pre from that pre I should preach. Then suddenly I uh my eyes went to 1 Corinthians chapter 12 and 13 verse for in one spirit we were all baptized into one body whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free and all were made to drink of one spirit. You know if you are baptized you are saved then you have to drink. We are all drink same thing from the same spirit. So this was actually told about the new testament believers. Now the same sentence is used for even the people belonging to the old testament. So when I turned page back I found the same thing written about the people of Israel. 1 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 3 and 4. And all eight, okay, I will read from two. This is about the Old Testament believers. And all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. And all ate the same spiritual food. And all drank the same spiritual drink. From where they drink? For they drank drank from the spiritual rock that followed them and the rock was Christ. Hallelujah. So it’s experience is very common. No the first verse which I read everyone who has baptized into one body whether Jewish or Greek slave or free all are drinking the same drink from where? From the spirit. Now looking Looking back when Paul is looking back what he says it’s not only you the churches the church in the Corinthians the members in the Corinthian church it’s not about you like you the our ancient forefathers Israelites they also drank the same spiritual food the same spiritual drink and everyone drank from you know which rock the rock Jesus Christ. Now what is the theological b on what basis on what ground? It’s a deep revelation. So that mean the God who was God who liberated the Israelites from the from the hand of the Pharaoh from the Egypt and one who divided the Red Sea and who walked with them lived among them. Who was he? He was Yahweh. I am what I am. But he is what? Jesus. According to whom? According to Paul. Hallelujah. Paul is not wrong in that because in the gospel of John, it is written that when Jesus was in debate with the Jewish people who was not believing them, believing in him, Jesus said directly to them very boldly and very confidently before Abraham I was. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. That’s why in the Hebrew it Hebrew epistle it is written that epistle of Hebrew it is written that Jesus Christ is the same Jesus Christ is the same means Jesus Christ was same with David if going back with Joshua going back with Moses going back with Abraham going back with Adam Adam hallelujah So Jesus Christ was the same yesterday means it’s about the Old Testament. Hallelujah. When when when Paul says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today. Hallelujah. That means we are all in we are all in today. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. As Jesus was with Paul, as Jesus was with Peter, as Jesus was with his disciples, as Jesus was with Martha and Mary, Jesus Christ is with us in the same way. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. That’s why Paul says that all believers, whether Jewish or Greek, free or slave, are drinking the same drink. Hallelujah. Because we are all drinking from Jesus Christ and forever means the coming coming age. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Jesus will be always same. Hallelujah. Now my main uh the message which I want to give is from 1 Corinthians chapter 10 from 1 to6. For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. And all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ. Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased. For they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things took place as examples for us that we might not desire evil as they did. Hallelujah. It’s a very very very Interesting thing. Can you imagine that when we when we read the census in the numbers, it is written that six lakh Jewish people started their journey from Egypt. And God told that everyone will perish. No person will put their feet in the land of Canaan. only two person will be keep putting their weight. You know that it’s a what we can call as a 99.9%. No only two person rest five lakh 99,998 didn’t they received the promise but they were not able to enter the land of canan very strict God. Sometimes we say that the life of Christianity is very life of uh Christianity is very hard. Not bed of roses. It’s a wrong thing. It’s a very easy thing. Super easy. Jesus said that broad is the way that leads to destruction. Narrow is the way which leads to life. Narrow means you don’t have to look here and there. You don’t have to look here and there. You have to just focus on Christ. And if you are just focused on Christ, life is very easy. Hallelujah. And those who have taken baptism yesterday and those who are already baptized for many years, life of Christianity is not hard. It’s a it’s a it’s a it’s a journey. And when you are in journey, you know, when journey becomes very easy when you don’t have luggages, it’s a nightmare. When we were living in Gujarat, it was very nightmare for me a person like me to go from start my journey from Surendagar railway station and deboarding in column station. Nightmare you know that because when we start our journey to Kerala first of all we has to spend three four days in the Surandagar market purchasing so many things. So that is another part of luggage. Three luggages for all the things, grocery and all that thing. Clothe and everything. Then another luggage is for what? For my clothes, my wife’s clothes, my son’s clothes, my daughter’s clothes and everything. So together there are actually 10 luggages. Train stops. Suragar junction train stops just for 2 minutes. In 2 minutes you have to take out all the 10 luggages and put in your seat and you know the the the the the isel on through which you walk and carry the luggage it’s very very very narrow. Sometimes you have to experience the the glamorous face of the passengers who are traveling with us with fire coming out of their eyes. because so many luggages we have to put in the compartment and then we hear different stories. Oh when the stain train entered Amhaba station before that in the Virangam station the the thieves attacked and so many belongings are stolen away. So we have to take care of the luggages at night 12:00 just wake up and see luggages are there child are sleeping or not? Then after again 2:00 just see because one time I purchased a new shoes and just I passed two hours in the train my shoes was stolen away. So in entire station I had to entire journey I have to spend without my shoes and you know how beautiful and clean hygienic is of Indian train. No excellent no. So I used to quarrel with my wife. I just want to take my own luggage suitcase. It’s very safe. No, you can sleep very peacefully. Your journey is very peaceful because you have only one luggage to carry. So it’s truly said by Jay Laalita more luggage more discomfort less luggage less luggage fully comfort. You just have to care take care of yourself and your suitcase in your bag. The same way the life to life towards heaven, the life of a Christian, you can’t carry so many baggages with you otherwise you will be distracted. Hallelujah. You have to be you will be distracted. So carry always less less luggage. When you are carrying so many luggages, you are distracted. And this happened with five lakh 99, 998 people. They were not satisfied with mana and the water. They were following the trends of the world. Let us enjoy let us enjoy the life like the other people. So that’s why below you can find that it is written that they in verse 7 it is written do not be idolators as some of them were as it is written the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play. The people of Israelites were following the trends of that current world. You know why they asked for the king? Actually, they didn’t need the king. They only demanded the king to Samuel because the other kingdoms had king. So, they also wanted to have king. It was without the king they were able to defeat the mightiest kingdom on the earth during those time. That is the pharaoh without the king. Now they are only asking king only because the other kingdoms have imitators. No Paul says be imitator of Christ. The people of Israel as majority was following the trends of the world. They were not satisfied with what they have. Today in the world also that that is that’s same thing happening whatever is trendy we want that we are not knowing whether really we need it or not but because all other people have so we should also we also want it today’s world is no it it is so much uh attractive attracting the people Warren Buffett says that don’t go after the brand. He was the first known richest person in the earth. Then came Bill Gates afterwards. But when he was the richest man in the earth in the world at that time he said that don’t go after the brands. What is evil desire? One of the problem with the Israelites was they had an evil desire. What is evil desire? The desire which they should not have means when you when you are not satisfied with what God gives you. Okay? And you desire something else that is an evil desire. Hallelujah. So when we are asking anything from your parents or when parents are asking from God just one question you have to ask to the children and to yourself whether actually we need it or not. Are we trying to take it because other people have? Just as Jesus is same yesterday, today and forever. We human beings are also from the time of Adam. We were yesterday, today and forever. Always asking. Hallelujah. I have a suit for imagine I have a suit and I watch in the television the ad Raymond’s suiting and shirting if you wear this feel like gentleman. God can choose you and you can also choose God. You know what happened here? Moses was a man of God chosen by God. But Joshua was not chosen by God. You know Joshua was very curious person. Moses going into the presence of God, okay? And then coming out and taking some ordinary stick and doing amazing miracles. So most Joshua wanted to know what is the secret of that? What is the secret of Moses power? The person with a stammering tongue leading six lakh people more than six lakh. What is that power in Moses? So he tried to get connection with Moses and he was following Moses. what he could see Moses sitting there Joshua cannot see but can he can only hear only Joshua could hear God speaking to Moses and Moses speaking to God you don’t find any time God talking with Joshua before that he was just following you know you he was just following he was not chosen by God but when Moses went out of the presence of God. Joshua stayed there if God would talk with me also. But at that time, God didn’t talk with Mo Joshua. But after the time came, when the time came, God began to spo speak with Joshua. Hallelujah. God told Moses that this will be the second leader, next generation leader. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So you my kids those who are here hearing me. Hallelujah. Prophets may not put your hands on you and told that you are chosen by God. Hallelujah. But if you are able to take a decision that I want to sit in the presence of God to hear the words from the God. Hallelujah. You will be the next Moses. Hallelujah.
Sometimes we underestimate the presence of God. You know that 120 people gathered in the room of Mark. They were just praying like us. Holy Spirit came among them and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. Do you think that today Holy Spirit is not with us? Do you believe that? If you believe that that will happen to you. If I believe that Holy Spirit is dead, then I can worship in spirit and truth. Hallelujah. It’s upon you. How is your perception? Hallelujah. Christ is here. Are you able to experience it? Hallelujah. Are you able to experience it? Hallelujah. You have You should have the We should have the heart of Joshua to experience the thirst for that experience. You automatically change. See, Christians should not try to change. When we enter into the presence of God, we are changed. Hallelujah. Paul had given a good uh example of that. Paul is telling to the believers in the Roman church that once upon a time you were the branch of you were belonging to a wild olive tree. God cut the branch of the wild olive tree. took that wild olive tree branch and put and fixed it with the the good olive tree and then what happens automatically everything is happening. Hallelujah. Those who have taken water baptism you don’t have to be try to be holy. You don’t have to be you don’t have to show that you are holy. If you are connected with Christ, if you are grafted with Christ, automatically Christ will Christ energy, Christ spirit will overflow in you. You don’t have to much do much labor work. No. That means the life of Christianity is Christianity. The life of Christianity is without the burden. But you have to come with Christ. Hallelujah. You just have to put little effort. Sit in the presence of God, hearing the word of God. Your life will automatically be changed. Hallelujah. I have experienced that in one day I left the cigarette in one day. Then I used to sit with my 20 friends who were continuously smoking with me. I used to sit with them 3 to four hours in the shops where they sell the cigarettes. I sit with them. But you know that I praised God that I didn’t have single temptation to smoke. You know what happened? It’s not that I am a good person. It’s because I am connected with the Christ. It doesn’t I don’t have any inclination to do that. Christ is real. Baptism was real. Christ is real. Only we have to be connected with that. Hallelujah. If we are not connected with the Christ, then we can’t experience the beauty of Christian life. So those who have newly baptized and those who are already baptized, I again want to say that life of Christian is not a hard task. It’s a very simple task. You have to just sit in the presence of God like Joshua and you will be a different person. May God bless you through this message. g
